13Witnesses after Covid shut down are increasing their calls around my neighborhood
by wozza inhi all , i just had another call by a an elderly jw ,let's call him ian.. only about 3 months ago i had a young jw call and trying to talk to him i had to tone it down a bit because he did'nt seem so theocratically bright as he only offered a tract and not much else , and i've had others call since covid.. so it seems around here they are making regular calls but not like back in the day when i used to auxillary pioneer where we would go over this turf every 1 to 3 weeks in the 80's.. but back to my caller ian ,on his own , but out with a group of jw's he was quick to get around the pleasantries and and so i interrupted him tactfully to slow him down.
started with a bit of my history easing into the fact that i had my first contact with jw's with my soon to be mother-in -law who was an invalided jw ,we had many good talks about her beliefs in the early 70's.. at this point he jumps in and wants to know if i would want a study again because i told him that i once did a study with jw's back.
i carefully steered him into telling me about those days ,what was he was doing back then.

Edited found new info: "When does the marriage take place? All the 144,000 will be in heaven just before the war of Armageddon is fought. However, that will not be the time for the marriage of the Lamb. (Read Revelation 21:1, 2.) The marriage of the Lamb takes place after the war of Armageddon has been fought and all of God’s enemies have been removed. WT May 2022 p. 17
So new info: Marriage of Christ takes place AFTER the war of Armageddon has been fought...But no supporting evidence

Do you recognize this?
by Gorb inthinking sometimes about my youth days and the stories my grandfather told me about our jw congregation.
do you recognize that your congregation was full of somehowe strange folks, very low educated, poor and simple?.
the po was an elder with some distance, with some personality acting intelligent and following the rules strict.. there was always a kind of scandal.

As to the quality of leadership, if anything it has gotten worse! Obedient to the WTS elders stay in, others who rock the boat are told to shut up or lose their "position", "bad" elders are rewarded. Imagine the WTS was the kind of organization that put men in charge of building projects who were "spiritually" qualified but did not know how to use a hammer, or pipe wrench... I saw it many times. It is like it says in their bible, "so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”"

A Jehovah's Witness family's excellent Letter of Resignation trending on exjw Reddit today
by Balaamsass2 ini got an email notice today on this excellent letter of resignation from a german family that is trending on reddit.
i thought i would share it here if anyone is so inclined to write one.
for those with pimi jw family and jw business connections, it may not be wise to share such a letter, but i imagine it must be very freeing to send such a letter.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

by JohnR1975 inthe truth is most active jws would probably agree that most of the teachings are not right, the new thing is that we just don’t know.. the governing body now say they get things wrong and make mistakes as they are not inspired and not infallible.

My parents didn't take the vax, Dad is an elder, and neither did some of the other elders and their families.
So your parents can’t go to any JW schools or special meetings? They would just lie about having been vaccinated...elders lie?! Unless they had to present a valid shot document (I doubt it).

Is Watchtower totally off base on Armageddon?
by Vanderhoven7 into me it is quite evident that the gt spoken about in matthew 24, mark 13 and luke 21 is a one time, non-repeatable localized event resulting in the destruction of jerusalem and the temple followed by the dispersion of surviving jews throughout the nations.. however, what is not so clear to most is that the gt of revelation deals with the same event.
my understanding is that the gb of jehovah witnesses has no clue as to how to interpret the apocalyptic messages found both in the synoptics and revelation.
but steve greg has armageddon down pat.

Beth Sarim, good answer, it is hard to explain to a non-jw because they have not been brainwashed to accept the "adjustment" and "clarification" concept of interpretation by the WTS. They say they do not speak for their god, but in essence they do, implying what they say should not be questioned even if "seems" wrong. How could you expect a non-jw to accept any explanation the WTS makes for the changes. One of my aha moments. Can't their god get it right the first time!
