Beard phobia, Charles Taze Russell had quite a luxuriant beard as did many of the men by his side and in the rest of the WTS. When Russell died, the control of the WTS was up for grabs, and Rutherford grabbed it. But not everyone supported him and Rutherford seemed to think that these men kept their beards as an affront to him. So he ordered no beards, and eventually chucked one out who refused to shave. After that it was no beards, even Jesus could not have a beard. The WTS finally decided there was too much "evidence" that Jesus did have a beard and let Jesus have his beard back, but no one on earth could have one and be in good standing with the WTS/GB. hahaha

No beards...even Jesus! Strange Watchower rule for brothers!
by Witness 007 inwatchtower 1954 p.511 "why do watchtower publications now show jesus with short hair and no beard?
because he is shown that way in older representations of him that are older then the traditional effeminate looking pictures.".
watchtower 1968 p.286 "bible evidence and a recent review shows that jesus did have a beard..." charles russell style of beard was popular at bethel...till rutherford took over.

Olin Moyle's letter to Judge Rutherford
by GabeAthouse inolin moyle was an attorney who was invited to bethel headquarters back in the 1930's to assist with legal cases at that time.
he became disillusioned with the culture at the headquarters and penned the following letter of resignation.
rutherford replied with an outrageous article in the watchtower provoking moyle to sue.

To understand the context of "Religion is a Snare and a Racket" shouted by Rutherford, it is important to know that before 1950, the WTS taught all religion was false but the WTS or Jehovah's witnesses were not a religion. After 1950, the WTS starting saying there was "false religion" and the "only true religion" were Jehovah's witnesses. That confused jws at the time because there had not been anything official in the publications about that change. Instead the WTS used a Questions from Readers segment in the WT 3/15/51 p.191-92 to slip it in (I'm sure there was no real reader submitting this question). "In the past we regarded "religion" as anything that was against God's will. Now many brothers are using the expressions "true religion" and "false religion" to make a distinction. Is this advisable.?--D.D, California. (Notice how they use weasel words to shift themselves away from an embarrassing situation): "The brothers are correct in using the qualifying adjectives "true" and "false" respecting religion, so as not to be misunderstood, especially by those outside the organization. In the past we have had to do so much needless explanation and extricating ourselves from embarrassing positions by not being specific on this." Hahahahaha

Anyone who met Grace and spent time with her, would never forget her. My husband and I visited her one year and she invited us to her home, made us dinner, and had some ex-jw friends over to talk afterwards. Such energy she had and how she loved to talk about her experiences, and I loved to listen. She was like a grandma to me, and I miss her. Thanks for doing this.

Billions to die at Armageddon?
by BoogerMan innot according to this verse:.
(mark 3:28, 29) truly i say to you that all things will be forgiven the sons of men, no matter what sins they commit and what blasphemies they speak.
but whoever blasphemes against the holy spirit has no forgiveness forever but is guilty of everlasting sin.”.

Of course, there is no scripture to support the idea that billions will die at the WTS appointed or anyone else's time for Armageddon to come. I always wondered as a child if small children (who had done nothing to be killed eternally for, and could not make their own choice) were killed at the flood. Being a child myself and having only one parent that was baptized a jw but did not live a very good jw life, I thought that I would die because of my mother's actions. The WTS has a convoluted "explanation" why a god that is loving would do this. Ezekiel says at 18:20 "The soul who sins is the one who will die. A son will bear no guilt because of the error of his father, and a father will bear no guilt because of the error of his son. The righteousness of the righteous one will be accounted to him alone, and the wickedness of the wicked one will be accounted to him alone." so that does not fit in with the WTS doctrine. I have researched this a great deal, until I realized is something the "bible does not say" but the WTS goes on to say what god would have said. (If you can do it without triggering yourself, search the WT Online Library with the phrase "the bible does not say" and you may or may not be amazed how many times the WTS uses that phrase and then proceeds to fill in what they think it means, and if the GB thinks it is true until there is a "clarification" or an "adjustment."

My questions are when someone says something like this: 1) did the person who told you this hear this from the WTS or who 2) if they were told by someone who was told by someone who was told by someone, and no one knows how this started 3) what has the WTS said about this in print...I was told by 3 GB members that they did not believe something like this unless it was in the printed WT on the table in their Bethel room when they got home from work. Not even if another GB member told them. If appointed male jws are telling you things like this, they do not have official approval from the WTS. (not that they don't but don't pass it along, trying to get attention for some exclusive, sensational info).

In some places, blue is considered a color associated closely with heaven...he's anointed (or claims to be) and is expecting to go home to heaven when he dies. haha

I remember going to a circuit assembly in the same circuit Bethelites attended from the farm. The circuit overseer got up and brought up the point that jws with nice cars did not want to use them in "preaching" because their car might get messed up and they did not want the wear and tear on their car. He counseled these people that they should use their own car, gas, and run up "wear and tear" on their car not the literally "poor" pioneer, these people with the nice cars were missing an opportunity to do good to their "brothers." But see there were a lot of Bethelites in those congregations, many who did not have nice cars and not the income to support the cost of gas...I wondered how that worked out?
