Rattigan350, probably because so many were deceived by this, the WTS using this to excuse their mistaken predictions. And still are being deceived and some POMIs are still believing the WTS crap.
i didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.
practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.
now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.
I might mention that even back then people were suspicious of vaccines too, but it was bad and I remember people in the 50's seeing children dying or "crippled" by polio. Very few families were untouched. But there were requirements in place to get them that because of their experiences were willing to get and were grateful they were there. The WTS was anti-vax until 1952 when a Questions From Readers was printed. But the belief that the WTS forbid getting a vaccination still persisted until covid when the WTS saw the problem that could arise if they continued their ban and came out more clearly to jws that they should get the vaccination.
"Questions From Readers
● Is vaccination a violation of God’s law forbidding the taking of blood into the system?—G. C., North Carolina.
The matter of vaccination is one for the individual that has to face it to decide for himself. Each individual has to take the consequences for whatever position and action he takes toward a case of compulsory vaccination, doing so according to his own conscience and his appreciation of what is for good health and the interests of advancing God’s work. And our Society cannot afford to be drawn into the affair legally or take the responsibility for the way the case turns out.
After consideration of the matter, it does not appear to us to be in violation of the everlasting covenant made with Noah, as set down in Genesis 9:4, nor contrary to God’s related commandment at Leviticus 17:10-14. Most certainly it cannot reasonably or Scripturally be argued and proved that, by being vaccinated, the inoculated person is either eating or drinking blood and consuming it as food or receiving a blood transfusion. Vaccination does not bear any relationship to or any likeness to the intermarriage of angelic “sons of God” with the daughters of men, as described in Genesis 6:1-4. Neither can it be put in the same class as described at Leviticus 18:23, 24, which forbids the mingling of humans with animals. It has nothing to do with sex relations...."
jws seem to firmly believe that before the flood mankind eas vegan or at least vegetarian.. however, in gen 1:24,25 it says that god created livestock (domestic animals) and beasts of the eart (wild beasts).. why would adam and eve need livestock if they were vegan and naked?
wouldn't need wool or hide for clothing, nor meat for food.
possibly for dairy products only?
Kerry King, it is a teaching that the WTS adjusted in 1992, only those living then might remember it or like some jws conveniently forget that so they can cling to the old teaching which they prefer. But the WTS has covered its rear by putting the "change" in print. Sort of like the 1975 teaching.

Regularly, Watchtower light is not brighter, it is vastly different than the past
Proverbs 4 identifies that righteous people fare better than the wicked, and not prophetic of the Watchtower Society. However, let us entertain the idea that within this passage there is the prophetic foreshadowing that God progressively reveals truth to his people during the time of the end. This concept cannot apply to Watchtower history, as Watchtower doctrine has not refined but changed. Consider whether the following change is really a matter of doctrinal light getting lighter:
Imagine being the Witness parent of a child that needed a kidney transplant in 1970. Although the Awake! 1949 Dec 22 had described transplants as "wonders of modern surgery", in 1967 God revealed that transplants were wrong in his eyes. The Watchtower 1967 Nov 15 pp.702-704 stated that being now "enlightened by God's word" God's people understood that transplants are against divine principles and cannibalistic. The parents must sincerely have believed they were putting Jehovah first when watching their child die, refusing them the opportunity of possible survival through a transplant. How would that parent feel on reading the Watchtower 1980 Mar 15 p.31 - "There is no Biblical command pointedly forbidding the taking in of other human tissue. It is a matter for personal decision. " The enlightenment of 1967 had proved to be dark, harmful and in need of later correction, a regressive doctrine that resulted in the unnecessary death of members. When a doctrine changes and then reverts back to the original position this is not evidence of light getting brighter, it is evidence of a lack of Holy Spirit directing the Governing Body.
The concept of light becoming brighter implies that previous doctrine was correct, but incomplete. Russell eloquently wrote the following truism that:
"If we were following a man undoubtedly it would be different with us; undoubtedly one human idea would contradict another and that which was light one or two or six years ago would be regarded as darkness now;… But with God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, and so it is with truth; any knowledge or light coming from God must be like its author. A new view of truth never can contradict a former truth. "New Light" never extinguishes older "light" but adds to it…"
proverbs 4:18 says, "but the path of the righteous....grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.".

Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be the only group to teach truth, as revealed to their Governing Body by Jehovah. If this is the case, why has Watchtower doctrine experienced ongoing changes? Watchtower justifies this as the "light gets brighter." This article examines the logic behind such a claim.
A key premise of this site is that constant changes in doctrine and failed predictions are clear indication that Jehovah does not direct Watchtower. For the external observer this is the logical conclusion, yet for one of Jehovah's Witnesses it barely raises a grimace. How can this be? Because changes and failures are immediately dismissed by the thought stopping concept:
Does truth change?
"The Bible tells us the light would get brighter."
This is based on a phrase from Proverbs.
"But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established." Proverbs 4:18
Addressing this claim is required to render the information contained within this site effective.
The main justification from the Watchtower for changed doctrine is Proverbs 4:18.
“The Light Keeps Getting Brighter … Increasing light from Jehovah continues to illuminate their way organizationally, doctrinally, and morally. What are some of our beliefs that have been clarified in recent years?” 2016 Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses p.25
““The path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established,” states Proverbs 4:18. Yes, Jesus’ leadership is progressive, not stagnant. Another way to cooperate with Christ’s “brothers” is to have a positive attitude toward any refinements in our understanding of Scriptural truths as published by “the faithful and discreet slave.”” Watchtower 2011 May 15 p.27 (Contines...worth a read)
the last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.
the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.
i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.
3rd gen, the WTS did get comp'd (free) rooms and gave them to WTS big wigs to use. As to the WTS getting money directly from the hotels I'm not too sure about that or if it is misguided info. The "jw rate" did not apply before the convention or after per the hotels I knew of. And many jws had other ways to save on room costs, through their own fiscal membership with that hotel or through their employment, but the WTS said not to use them or the WTS might lose their block of rooms what liars, surprise. Yes, let the rank and file, struggling to put food on the table, clothes on their family's back, and a safe place to live...pick up the higher cost. We always stayed where we got the best price for the better room. Some jws told us they got rooms 50 miles away from the site and the room had bed bugs! Not just that one experience either. Some just drive back and forth from the convention site or take a bus rented by the congregation for transport daily. Even if an hour and a half away. Wow, those were or still are the days.
if you do a search on the wt website and type in "oral sex", you will get 69 results.

why does the wt.
I will add, if you find "bestiality" in 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 in the RNWT let me know.
my family had several elders, ministerial servants, auxillary pioneers etc, so it certainly wasn't one of those 'barely in' families.
but in certain small ways, i think mine were slightly less hard line than some other families i've heard stories about over the years.
one example was the 'fall dinner'.
I remember that Beth Sarim. My family just moved it to the next Saturday (US). I remember people celebrating their birthday 6 months after their real one. One relative got a big turkey from their workplace around Thanksgiving and my jw family used that as an excuse to have a T-day celebration right then, can't waste it right? My non-jw relatives weren't stupid and saw it as hypocrisy. But those jws obviously don't think their god is seeing them or knowing their innermost thoughts as the WTS teaches. As the Israelites said when they were worshiping false gods within the temple proper itself, RNWT "Jehovah has left the land and is not seeing."
