Not only did I believe it would come in my lifetime, I believed it would come before I reached the age of 21.

Just in case you are wondering, that was 40 years ago. OOPS, I guess I was wrong.

Thank goodness I got out when I was 22.

even when i still believed that you had to be a jw to be a true christian (*gag*), i did not believe that the meetings (or the door-to-door crapola, for that matter) were the only way or place to worship.

since i received real light, i actually enjoy reading the bible!

i'm wondering how many different definitions or explainations of worship i can find here.

Thanks Blondie. And, may I repeat... Where is Jesus???? The twisting of Scriptures to mean Jehovah when the scriptures are really talking about Jesus is disgusting.

And to allow a misguided person to think they mean "all" JW's when they "really" only mean the 144,000 is horrible.

They are truely masters of disception. Thanks for once again pointing this out.

They never thought they woud die

i was over visiting my mom this week and i was suprised at some of her comments.

she would usually say things like "this system can't last much longer" and point to world events she was certain marked the beginning of the end.

she and my father became jw's in the 50's, were convinced armageddon was near, lived through the hoopla of the 75 fiasco.

My mother has been a JW since 1945. I don't know how she "really" feels about the org since I am out and she would never be honest with me.

I was just a young child and remember being told I would get to pet lions in the new world. WOW, to my child's mind that was a great thing to do. And, armageddon was right around the corner, so soon, but here is is 60 years later, and no armageddon. Plus, behind my back they changed how they view the word generation.

So glad I left in the late 60's.

When was the doctrine changed that God cares for us individually? When I was a JW back in the 50's and 60's, it was drilled into my head that God does not work with individuals, just the organization. Now they are saying JW's can have a personal, intimate relationship with Jehovah. Is that really what they belive or only for publication?

that is what the watchtower society thinks of you and the xjw movement.. the wts lawyers, reps and elders would laugh each time i stood outside the court house with a placard.

i would have up to twenty supporters.. show the world that the wts corrupt and evil.. show the wts that the xjw movement is not a joke.. show the wts that the xjw movement is real and means buisness and is a force to be reconned with.. support the protest in brooklyn.
