by Woofer inafter a few months of lurking i decided to register.. was raised a dub all my life .
.got married at 19 (biggg mistake) because as you know "dating is only for marriage" (obviously not for trying to get to know someone better) and was married 11 months after i met my ex-husband.
i felt a lot of pressure from both families to get married.

This is the first year in my life that I won't be going to that thing with the bread and the wine. You know what I'm talking about. Even though I gradually stopped going to meets since i was 21 (beer made me do it!), I've always gone to all their special events. Deep down inside, I want to please my parents in that respect. If it's not my parents, it's her parents that reminds us, or both. I know it's just to please them and I know that I shouldn't, so I won't this time. I don't want them to think that I'm going back and i'm having doubts about not being a JW. The assembly is going to be a little harder to slip off, but I won't go this time. I live two blocks away from where that thing is going to be held. I hope my family doesn't stop by. What kinda experiences have yous guys had with this bread and wine thing?

I remember a CO stayed at grandmas house once. That guy was the meanest guy I had ever met! He was questioning everyone and everything, like why haven't you served God more, why aren't you a pioneer, and what kinda job u do and if it takes away from Jehova. I remember feeling worthless.

Another Newbie :)
by merfi init's hard to know where to begin, so i'll just... begin.. i had my first encounter with jw in high school when my now ex-husband moved into our small town.
(you're doing the math already, aren't ya?
:) ) after finding out he was a jw, i did a little bit of reading into it, which he discouraged... told me that that stuff is "apostate" (i had no idea what that meant) and that he'd give me stuff to read.

Many thanks to Simon!
by Elsewhere in.
if it were not for all of the very hard work that simon does behind the scenes to keep this forum up, much of the other work others are doing could never have happened.. this site serves as an excellent central location for us all to communicate and exchange thoughts and ideas about how to expose the evil ways of the wts.. simon, thank you very much!

KH construction in Mexico
by flag ini recently went to mexico for vacation and my sister in law told me that they were constructing a new kh.. i questioned her on how was it done, and this is what she told me:.
they saved the money for long time, then they sent the money to the wt.. wt then bought the land and the materials (but everyting is under wt name).
all brothers and sisters will work for free.. after everything is completed they still have to pay a "suggested contribution" to the wt for the use of the kh.. i think the law in mexico recently changed and now the wt can own property that is why they are pretty active building kh's.

If they're soooo interested in owning the land, then why don't they wait until after armageddon. That way they can have all the land they want.

as in my last thread, i stated that my sister went threw my house and found pictures of my children in their halloween costumes.

Those kinda people are a big thorn on your back. They think they're not judging you, but they do it all the time. Kinda hard to even talk to them, even though you love them.

What about the Children?
by seek2find insomething that's really been eating at me latley is how during my growing up in the orginazation and now my childrens growing up in it, nothing has been done on an organizational level to benifit the children.
why has there never been any organizational focus on the need for congregations to sponsor activities for young people.
many churches and church groups have extensive ministrys to reach young people.

I remember when I was a little Mexican growing up in Mexico, they had all kinds of stuff for kids. We had a school program on the weekends to help us with our homework. Especially math, since the witness lady was a math teacher. But my younger siblings didn't get to experience that. I thought that was fun. The congregation had a lot of get togethers, like baseball, soccer, or basketball games against other congregations. I remember that they discouraged all that stuff at the meetings, because they didn't want people to go join just because of all the fun we were having after the meeting. That's the excuse they used, and it all went kaput after that. Oh and they stopped making announcements at the meetings about the get togethers because they were told that those activities didn't have anything to do with what was going on at the kh. And that was the end of that.
