  How do you feel about death?

  hi all, forgive me and my n00bness if this has been discussed, or if i started this thread in the wrong place.

  how does everyone feel about death,and what happens to you afterward?

  do you still believe what the wts teaches?

  This is a question that tests my faith daily. I am fine with saying that I believe in the rapture cuz I believe in Jesus as long as I don't have to die first. Then I panic and think, well what if I'm wrong and that's it and there is no such thing as God and it's the oldest hoax in the world (the Bible) and I'll never come back and blah de blah. Death is the scariest thing to think about. It used to keep me up to the point of wanting to vomit to think of never coming back again some day EVER. Too much to think about ya know. But at the end of the day, I think that we die, we lay there and wait and then we get called to Jesus with all the other believers to safely make it through the tribulation on the non believers and on the fencers.....then we get a "new heavens and new earth" and live on it in the New Jerusalem with Jesus and all the apostles where there is never any night cuz Jesus is the light.

  En-rapture

  so i finally decided on a religion that makes me feel good and i picked baptist.

  i love the idea of the rapture.

  can you imagine walking out to your car one day after a bad day at work and all of a sudden there's jesus lighting up the sky on a cloud calling you to him.

  So I finally decided on a religion that makes me feel good and I picked Baptist. I love the idea of the rapture. Can you imagine walking out to your car one day after a bad day at work and all of a sudden there's Jesus lighting up the sky on a cloud calling you to him. I don't know whether I'd feint, die of a heart attack or hit the ground bowing and praying.

  What do we all think of the rapture? I read the Left Behind first book and it's great!

  CHRISTMAS WOES

  most of you know i'm the one with all the religion woes..(ie....finding one...ha) anyways, i did all this research on christmas being that i was brought up not believing in it and found that it really does have pagan roots in a big way so i can't decide if it's ok to do it if i do it for jesus' birthday even tho now i know that it wasn't started that way and all this bad air is around it and i get scared i am deliberately doing something against god and that's detestable to him.....ahhhhhh.. i know he wasn't born in winter, i know we don't know when he was born....so is it ok for me to get presents on a day that used to be used to worship some pagan sun god when they would hang pine boughs all over their house.

  doesn't that make it bad?!

  wow, and now I feel like a jerk for all the times I've told people their crosses were vanity filled and idols as Jesus never even died on one etc, etc. I just watched the Passion a few minutes ago which I had not watched for fear it was "wrong" to watch it and I can't believe the denial of something like that.

  Wow, i was unaware that Russell thought it was a cross....why would they teach otherwise? I know that they believed that the variation of the word stauros was to mean a stake and not a cross, but everything that I've read historically says that even stakes (stauroo) had cross pieces a lot of the time. If they were trying to make an example out of Jesus, they would have used the cross to make it last longer. A stake would kill someone in as little as ten minutes until not much more than an hour due to inability to lift upper body to fill lungs. It seems so obvious to me that the fact people were passing him and taunting him and that his cross neighboors were talking to him that it was something that took a little time. It's right there! Oy.

  HELP!! Trying to find right religion brough up as JW

  i was raised as an on again off again (when convenient for flighty mom) jw.

  i have recently decided due to the birth of a daughter that it was time to get it together and decide what to do with myself spiritually as she was going to church with her baptisit dad and i felt awful.

  so, i've been using the reasoning book and reading the bible and trying to decide what's right.. spent hours looking at christmas online....saw it was traced to pagan celebrations and decided not to do it.

  Thanks all. That was very helpful . I am also starting to think I don't need a MAN to tell me I'm saved or I'm going to make it or anything else. God is the only one who can save me or pull me through it....so I'm going to do it little at a time and thank him every day for what I have (and have not) and do what feels right....thanks.
