I agree with james_ woods. JWs can't stand not being like others.

Have you heard: "Worldly people just live for the holidays"
by Gopher inwhile i was a jw, around this time of year i would often hear jw's saying that non-jw's live only for their holidays, because that's all they have to look forward to.
after all, they don't have the wonderful hope of living in paradise on earth forever under the loving direction of jehovah's organization !!
so, for those of you who are former jw's or never were jw's, what would you say about that idea (wordly people only live for holidays), and why do jw's really say that?.

Fly, know how you feel. Been there. Was in for 33 years and regular pioneered for 2 years. I could not believe it when I seen it was a cult. It really hurt. Raised my kids in it and now they are grown and being raised in it, they think it is the truth so I don't have much hope for them. It won't do any good to cry and you won't feel any better. Fade out if you can and they will think you are spiritually weak. I have been out now for about 3 years and have not been DF. My family still in the organization still speak to me and have one Son and his Wife and daughter who are out. My son and his wife were labeled Apostates because they spoke out. Hoping for the best for you.

Special Christmas Gifts (1 daughter, 3 nephews)
by Abaddon inthis christmas is a special one.. first of all it'll be the first i've celebrated with my eldest daughter.
she turned 16 this summer and moved to the netherlands from the uk to live with me and my fiance.
she is absolutely delighted with trees and tinsel and everything about it; her face when we went to the christmas decorations department was a classic... she has her own tree in her bedroom and i swear it's about to go through the floor it has so many fricking decorations on it... talk about tinseltown.... it is also our first christmas in our new house, which we moved to to make my daughter's move possible.. and finally, over the past few weeks i have learnt that three of my nephews have told their parents they are not going to meetings any longer.

1/15 WT: The Watchtower's Sick Social Order
by metatron ini just got done reading the latest watchtower and it reinforces any notion that the old men who run this religion.
want nothing to do with ethical reform of their cult.. the magazine gives an effective look at the way that the watchtower hierarchy maintains their sick social order.. first, women are inferiors, period.
nevermind the fact that women can manage/run/ or lead an organization equally as.

The Bible at Romans 6:16 says they are. "Do you not know that if you keep presenting yourself to ANYONE as slaves to obey him, you are slaves of him because you obey him..."

Sensational news in my Cong!
by Zico ini've just found out something that's going to be a massive thing in my congregation when it gets out.
it all starts with a former jw, who faded away probably about a decade ago, and then moved away, came out as a homosexual a few years ago.
he was never baptised, and he left so long ago, he never got chased up or disfellowshipped.

The organization itself is evil. Jesus said you could idenify false prophets by the fruit they produce. [Matthew 7: 15-16]

How embarrassed were you to be a JW?
by exwitless ini, for one, was often embarrassed to be a jw; i always felt guilty about that, because it was always drilled into us that we should never be ashamed of our "religious heritage".
well, it's really hard to be the only one at your workplace who doesn't celebrate christmas, birthdays, etc.
it just draws so much unwanted attention to you, like when people try to tiptoe around certain subjects in your presence.

As a JW I was not embarrassed but now I am ashamed I was ever a JW.

Did the JW's ever admit that they were wrong on something?
by JH inok, when they have a new teaching, they call it new light, but did the jw's ever admit that they were wrong on something?

When they get caught in a lie, they call it a mistake.
