Refuting the ARGUMENT BY DESIGN.

it's tiresome and it doesn't add up but it's one of the most popular arguments for god's existence, "the argument by design.

" jehovah's witnesses and other believers point out a wonder of nature like the eye and compare it to a 'lesser' mechanical wonder of human design like a camera.

the supposed conclusion is that this natural wonder is evidence of creation by a powerful designer; god.. .

it's been a long time since i've posted anything, probably since i've been in the process of becoming an ex-exjw but lately i've been getting more emails from family inquiring about my beliefs or lack thereof, and often sending the latest rags, no doubt to lift my day .

so, i thought i'd draft a letter to send to my mom, with the intention of letting her see a glimpse of my state of mind, and hopefully ease her mind some to see that i'm not in despair or plagued by feelings of guilt.

i'll post the one part of her letter first that's relevant and then my response.

Why do they call it "The Truth" ?

if the "truth" keeps changing shouldn't they call it "in search of the truth"?

an orange is always an orange, and apple always an apple they do not change.

so how is it "truth" can change?

most people know that the jehovah's witnesses are not there "just to talk about the bible".

i was a jw but left about 8 years ago, my husband wanted to go back so we have tried, i did not do so good.

being gone so long just helped me realize this is totally false, i look at the jws as lambs being lead to their deaths.. fast forward to now, we are both in our 40s and i have had medical side effects from using birth control and other meds as birth control.

my body can not take anymore, i have suffered breast cyst and uterus cyst, so i asked my husband who has an issue with using condoms because he does not reach a climax, and has to masturbate, to use something that would offer us a permanent result such as him getting a vasectomy.. his reaction is like why i feel even more strongly that jws are wrong.
