Anyone Else from Canada?

i'm really intrigued by that fact that i may know some of you and yet not know that i know you.

i just want to know how many people from canada are here.

if you don't mind and don't care about posting your province (cause i'm too timid to) we could all get an idea of just how many canucks are really out there.

I'm pretty sure I remember Clive Thomas. He was a young guy with white hair, right?

That's the guy. I only remember him as a good speaker and seemingly nice guy, but then again I was just your average joe-shmoe publisher at the time. One of the stories going around about him was that he used to be a reporter for the Hamilton-Spectator, with the inference that here was a smart guy that became a witness, adding to the evidence of a intelligent religion

He's the piece of shit they interviewed on TV newscasts about a local JW molestation case. Rather than sticking to facts, he called the victim's morality into question.

That's interesting. Maybe the borg found a better use for him, as he supposedly had to quit the circuit work because of his MIL's health. He was well spoken and if he was a company man, disemminating WTS propoganda would be a breeze for him

when i look around at all the people in the world, i'm comforted to know that jehovah will soon destroy them.. i'm talking about people that don't attend our encouraging christian meetings.

yes, people that don't zealously participate in the preaching of the good news.

I look forward to the day that the WTS has to answer to God. They have brought great reproach on God and have made people fear a loving God, they threaten people with Armaggedon and Gehanna, and they keep every JW fearful of being disfellowshipped, witnesses have been abused , and some have died for refusal of blood, or others have committed suicide because the WTS destroys the core of the families

Just curious OFC, what specific judgement would you be satisfied with?

We all know Jehovah's usual smiting ways, and they are rarely pleasant.

But would the judgement of the goats by the kinder, gentler Jesus at Matthew 25:41 please you?

41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels

Or perhaps just simple sword play (Matthew 10:34-36)

several times since 1996 their literature has referenced the book darwin's black box by michael behe, which book has become a kind of bible for iders.

the book introduces the notion of "irreducible complexity" in a formal way as disprove of evolution.

i was molested by a jw.

he was a young man about 19 yrs.old and he went to bethel after molesting me and i was only about 12 or 13 yrs.old.

i have never told anyone because i was so afraid of being disfellowshipped for letting this happen to me.

first of all, why don't all of you congratulate me on 2000 posts!

in other news, the jc is over.

because of this we have an elder that lied to us and to my wife parents.

Congratulations on your ~~successful fade~~ quick disconnect from the org! This will, as many have pointed out, allow you to get on with your life quicker and with less hindrances than a fade ever would have allowed.

One note of caution from my standpoint, forget about writing letters to any others in the cong. Any positive effect that learning the facts of your situation might have on some in the cong., will be offset by a seeming effort to draw some to your side, or a prideful rejection of counsel. (even if that is far from the case)

The only ones you should be concerned about are YOU AND YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY.

Your family that are still dubs may have a hard time hearing your name besmirched (usually there's always rumours about illicit or seedy conduct), and try to dispel those by relaying the actual events. This may result in the elders coming down on them, and maybe that would not be a bad thing in the long run. (but really hard to see where that would all go)

I just want to say I'm happy that BOTH you and your wife are coming out of this together, and have now many more possibilities open to you in the future.
