It was very funny, I laughed out loud, but I don't have the book, so I cannot quote it.
I should have gone to bed hours ago.
ok blondies review of the wt got me thinking, dan 12:4 speaks of somone 'roving about and knowledge becoming abundant'.
what a strange expression.
like most obscure passages they are easy to misuse as this weeks wt demonstrated (and others similarly)by saying roving about meant searching through the bible.

how can those doing the monitoring not be affected by what they read here?.
how can anyone not be affected by the paedophilia scandal, the un scandal, the 1975 debacle?.
how do they find someone to read here and still stay a jw?.
Fair enough, just don't expect me to believe.
there is so much information on the internet.
how do you know what's true, what's exaggerated, and what's totally false?.
this for example...... would you classify this true, exaggerated or false?.
Our elders would never have done anything as interesting as stalking people - too busy reading up the long answers in insight books and chacking out all the regulations in the old KM for da meetang.
I would have counted it a priviledge if anyone in the Hall thought me important enough to follow me around.
i recently read an article about jw's that, if had the choice, would probably leave because of the deceptions, lies, etc., but don't because of family, friends, prestige, whatever, and instead lead a make-believe life going through the motions of being a loyal and believing follower of the watchtower organization.
most of those purported to be part of this non-believing/participating, but attending, jw population, are folks that have been associated with the jw's for a number of years, but, as many have, decided that the lies and constant changes (new light) just don't make sense anymore.
i would suspect that identifying those who just "go through the motions" of being a good jw would be difficult.
Look back a few pages and you will find it.

I read a funny thing about the old Witness interpretation of this verse in the bookshop today!!!

Rescue,
No cool-aid for me thanks - I watch Bill O'Reilly every night
DaCheech,
The sign don't work - Doh!
As soon as apostates use a sign then the Witness elders will find out about it and use it to catch out undercover apostates!!!
There is no way around this, I have thought about it. The apostate sign system cannot work.
The Apostogram was a much better idea!!!

Sorry to hear about your situation Cathy, you sound like quite a character!!!
i am currently following the ongoing saga of a person who is studying to be a jw and her unbelieving husband's attempts to sway her in this endeavor.
he has gotten her to read cofc and she's halfway through it, but nonetheless, she remains bound to the jws and wants to continue her persuit.
he has tried to call into question that the wts could have been appointed by jesus as the "faithful, discreet slave", but the person she is studying with flat out told her that jws do not believe that jesus chose the wts as the fds and, that they don't believe that they are the one chosen religion/church.
Rescue,
It does not say that, of course. Wise up.

We should none of us be apostates!!!
Apostates are just as bad as Jehovah's Witnesses!!!!
A plague on all your houses!!!!
Could you explain what you mean about academic approach???
I suppose you have not got to the part yet where he claims that Christine King (Vice-Chancellor of Staffordshire University) is just an over-enthusiastic schoolgirl.
Or the bit where he states that many believe Detlev Garbe has converted to being a Witness!!! Who is he trying to kid!!!
