Some of you persist in thinking that I am some kind of 'Watchtower Apologist'. I am nothing of the kind. I just wish that apostates would not try to emulate the Witnesses in their rabid extremism. Sometimes I really think apostates are their own worst enemy. If only they never went so over the top, probably we would have witnessed many of the reforms apostates would like to see naturally occur within the society. Outside pressure is only going to make them dig their heels in. When will you lot ever learn? Besides, if people really believe that taking blood is wrong, then they should be allowed to refuse it. If they want to believe in 1914 and all that, then that is up to them. I really am disturbed by the illiberal streak in apostates who seem to think that just because they don't believe it anymore, Witnesses have no right to maintain their idiosyncratic beliefs. It is the exact mirror of the fundamentalist Witnesses who is convinced the whole world is wrong and they are going to set them straight. Why can't we just say that Witnesses and ex-Witnesses have different views on the world and leave it at that. Since neither view can be demonstrated beyond doubt, it is bloody-mindedness to rant and rave the way some do.

Apostates - blood on their hands?
by slimboyfat indon't you think the witness leaders would have given up the blood doctrine and 1914 by now had not apostates made such big things of them?
haven't they been painted into a bit of a corner where, if they tried to adjust things on blood now, everyone would come down on them like a ton of bricks?
if apostates were not so vigilant in watching the witnesses' every move, perhaps the governing body would have tried to drop the dubious doctrines by the back door, like so many others that they have discarded when they did not feel to closely watched (organ transplants, for example).

Do you ever weigh yourself before and after you use the toilet?

it can be very entertaining to see how much you, well, "lost".
(it also helps if you have a digital scale that can measure fractions of a pound)

Still religeous?
by John Doe ini'm curious how many here were witnesses.
for those that were, what are your current religeous affiliations?
i'm still evolving, but currently i consider myself to be a cross between an agnostic and a deist.

The overwhelming majority of people I know that have left the WTS are now either agnostic or atheist (including myself).
I would agree with that. But somehow the ex-Witness born-again nuts are the ones who make all the noise.
We are the silent majority (to coin that awful phrase).

Like the Psalm where David asks Jehovah to kick in the teeth of his enemy?
You catch my mid-Atlantic drift!

One has not peed one's pants since seven.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I abhor violence (like the Psalmist).

I was just wondering. I am having a study again to become active. I want to get back in with the Witnesses. I want to try to get a position of responsibility in the congregation worldwide.
