  i was in the thinking room yesterday morning doing my usual routine, and between grunting and showering my mind was wondering when i came upon what i thought to be a great idea.

  this weekend is the weekend for the district convention where all the good little jw's will be attending.

  so i thought, if the jw's are at the convention, who's going to be at the kh?

  Not so much because I feel I may be moved to rejoin the org but more because my thought process still reverts to old JW ways. Also the way I interact with people sometimes strikes me as Dub-ish.
  In that way I feel I am a Recovering JW.
  But have no fear. I will NEVER go back to that org.

  i need advice for throwing a party

  my parents are allowing me to throw a party so all my worldly friends can come and hang out.

  there will be drinks, swimming poool, lounging and food, poker and black jack too!

  is calling a week in advance enough time?

  I have a history of terrible parties.
  
  One thing that seems like it should be considered is how to control the number of people that show up. What if 20 people decide to go and each brings a friend?
  Is there a way you could have them RSVP you??

  Boy its hard for teenaged JW's

  i had to come home early from work today because a 17 year old girl came over to me and was all upset she asked if she could come up and visit with my wife and i. she said the brothers are always picking on her and she can not do anything right.

  i asked,what have you done she said nothing every time it is some one making things up and she is tired of even trying any longer.

  teenagers come from over all the area they they know they can come and talk to us and we will not judge them.

  Very good friend of mine had two teenaged girls and an alcoholic, drug-abusing, womanizing husband. She clung so had to the organization and sincerely wanted to help her girls stay in the truth and serve Jehovah. I have NEVER seen a parent so diligent in following the elders advise.
  
  It backfired on her.
  
  I didn't fully believe her reports of how the elders treated her daughters. Until I started reading posts on this site.
  
  Tonight I am literally sick to my stomach about the appalling, inhumane edicts that have been handed out by those idiots. It's downright criminal.
  
  I feel nauseous.

  I know that those were some of your issues with the cong but I thought your parents were siding with them. Sounds like maybe they are thinking that maybe all the petty restrictions are not all that important??
  
  Did you parents have it out with the elders?
  Or just realizing the importance of enjoying quality time with you in your last few weeks at home?

  Yes. I have seen it and have been following it. I've contributed a few comments there, as well. Even posed this same question on that thread.
  I was hoping to hear some actual experiences and have not seen any reported so I started a fresh thread hoping to get some reports.

  Sympahty for Circuit and District Overeer's Poor Wives

  i would like this thread to express sympathy for these poor women, that because of being duped by a typical "end of the world cult", have given up a stable enviroment, suffer god know what as they endure listening to the same booring talk for 6 months, away from friends and family, no home to decorate, under constant scrutiny from the other sisters, etc.... i wouldn't like this thread to degenerate into what bad things these poor victims of an "end of the world cult" have done, but more toward sympathy, to help especially the younger ones who may be reading jwd, and need the courage to do something to get out of this predicament, before they waste thier whole life away slaving for the ungratefull wt organization.. they could use some help here and understanding as well.
