  Corporations and the WTS

  are there any company's (big or small/ mulitnationals as well) that have an affiliation with the wts?.

  are there any products that dubs are not allowed to buy from?

  There are dozens and dozens of companies that the WTS owns stock in. (someone else will have to provide a link that lists some interesting ones)
  
  Any products that witnesses cannot buy?
  Cigarettes and tobacco products are forbidden. AND YET, did you know that the Watchtower owns tobacco stock?

  i have had a rash of jws on this board leaving comments in my inbox telling me how mislead i am.

  but what amazes me not one of them yet will analyze the facts with me.

  a real discussion means nothing to them.

  some things confuse me here.

  i am in the same position as many where i don't agree with so much the society says and feel stuck dragging myself to the meetings and then feel incredible guilt because the study for the day says it is wrong to have any doubts "even in private".

  I know this feeling. That guilt will kill you.
  My personal feeling (if you care to hear it) is that you and Jehovah know if you are really being 'disrespectful'. Sounds like just the opposite to me. You are looking to protect your wife from possible serious side-effects of contraceptives (respecting HER life and dignity) and maintaining the closeness that you have as a family. People choose to limit family size for so many reasons.
  You and Jehovah (and, hopefully, your wife) know full-well that a decision to have a vasectomy has NOTHING to do with DISrespect.
  Gotta let go of that guilt. Seriously, it can kill you.
  Certainly it can kill your true spirituality.
  It's spiritual abuse. I already believe that you are smarter than that.

  To see clearly, we need to get out of the FOG. Fear - Obligation - Guilt.

  So much of what you state rings true for me. I so remember being conflicted about 11 or 12 years ago.
  
  I suddenly saw a clear distinction between Jehovah and Jesus and the WTS. I saw that the WTS was - in my heart - going against Jehovah's will. I ignorred that pain in my heart and tried to adjust my understanding. I just could not reconcile their then-current truth with what I clearly understood the Bible to say. After one meeting, I left immediately at the end of the closing prayer. Said my own brief prayer to Jehovah. "Jehovah, you know better than I do why I cannot stay and condone what I am seeing and hearing here. Please know that I am not leaving you. I just need to distance myself from these people."
  
  I trusted the Jehovah knew what was in my heart and it was just making me sick being in the Hall. I guess I 'marked' the organization. Not all the people in it, but the org as a whole.

  HUH???? This is news to me. What about tubal ligation? A MUCH more dangerous proceedure. If vasectomies are disrespectful, wouldn't condoms, contraceptives and tubal ligations also be disrespectful?

  for example: we had a 'faithfull' brother getting older and confused.

  when something did not really went as he liked it (didn't get the answer etc) he shouted very loudly 'god doom me in the hell!

  one time i had to do the closing prayer on the midweek meeting.

  **We were going over the "Creation" book at the weekly bookstudy, and my little brother gave a long comment about how "orgasms" (meant to say organisms) were created, and how this orgasm is nothing like that orgasm, all orgasms are unique and there's no way a walking orgasm could ever be the same thing as an orgasm that lives in the water...etc**
  
  Same thing happened in my bookstudy. Brother had been married for about a year. He kept saying orgams when the word was really 'organism'. He was soo embarrassed and we were all trying to stiffle our laughter.
  
  He wasn't a very good reader to begin with. After the fourth or fifth time, he would stop at each word. Take a breath. His wife would say 'or-gan-ism' and he would repeat. At one point she said 'or-gasm' and everyone completely lost it.

  Meeting for service.
  My younger brother was one of those goofy, overly-brilliant kids who thought they could outsmart the adults. He had red hair and freckles to boot.
  He was maybe 9 or 10 years old.
  My dad was leading the group and asked if anyone had any suggested presentations for the magazines that morning. Cocky little brother in his orange plaid sport coat raises his hand and gives his presentation about Guns and violence and how terrible they are and kill people. In the New System, God won't allow guns. It's one way that he wipe out every tear from our eyes.

  The lead article in the Awake that he was offering was:
  What can be done about GUM trouble. - as in periodontal disease.

  Speaking slowly "for the sisters"

  i was looking at the long list of jw "don'ts" and "can'ts" someone posted here and i was reminded of a talk at the service meeting an elder gave once.

  it was from one of the most elementary of publications (aren't they all???

  ) and the elder on the platform said, "i'll speak slowly for the sisters.

  The ones I really wanted to deck were the ones that would say: "Isn't he so kind and loving. Looking out for the sisters to make sure they were included."
