Congrats on the momentous decision.
As for the suits, I'd suggest you ask jgnat. She was working on that particular exit issue a few months ago.

it is with little or no regret that i have found it necessary to disfellowship the watchtower bible and tract society in order to protect my good name.
after unrepentantly fornicating with the scarlet coloured wild beast for 10 years and having been exposed by a worldly organization, i have not been able to find any note of contrition or shame.plenty of time has been allowed for an apology but nothing has been forthcoming.indeed, minimising the sin indicates a haughty attitude.
i,for my part, will forever be ashamed of my association with wtbs.i apologise to bible students i've had and the fear i have displayed in saying nothing for 24 years.
Congrats on the momentous decision.

it's been a while since this topic has been brought up.
use it as a chance to see if there is someone you might know from years past.

He has to travel and give up his personal time.
You get to sit at home with a beer and get the same info on YOUR schedule...!!

kingdom ministry for october under: how can we help?
..."when donations are earmarked specifically for a certain disasters, it is necessary in some countries to use such funds only for the purpose specified by the donor and within a certain period of time, whether the needs of out brothers have been cared for locally or not.
(is this true and if so, isn't that the whole point of donating to natural disaster victims?
Anyone know if this is true-- if it is they're making $ with free labor ect.
Everything they do is with free labor.

so i'm at the literature counter last night picking up my latest magazines (that are used for floor mats in my car when its raining) and there are these 2 bible students (mom and daughter) who are studying with some sister in the hall.
(its obvious since they apparently have not got the memo yet on wearing pants to the meeting but i'm sure that's next chapter in the require brochure) anyways so here they are in front of me at the literature counter with a whole list of books and publications they want from the desk including the reasoning book, to tracts even to the wt cd-rom!
the brother looked obviously uncomfortable and gave them what they wanted till of course they asked for the cd-rom.
My first thought was that they curtail who can acquire because they want to make sure that adequate contribution is made. Not just the 10cents for the disc but more like the $150+ for the finished product/program.
They only 'say' that there is limited stock to make sure that they get paid.

i've been wondering what people think about this.
as soon as i turned 18 and had an income (it was disability but income just the same) my parents began to charge me room and board.
is this common practice?
Here's an odd one: When I moved out @ 22, I paid less rent for my 1/2 of the apartment then I paid to my parents. AND I wasn't used as a free baby sitter for a teenager, a 5 year old and a 1 year old.
When it was my turn to play 'parent', my rule started as: OK to live here rent free if you are (1) carrying 12 or more units and (2) maintaining 2.0gpa. I needed to see report cards at end of each semester.
This child had troubles and didn't finish a full semester. Tried a few times. Eventually I told him to leave for a few reasons. The last time he returned, I was unwavering. $500/mo rent due before the first of the month. I told him upfront that he would get back $300 for each month he lived here. If he chose to attend college, I also factored in college credits (rebate) and other incentives to help him keep focused on earning a living and living on a budget. (I had wanted to do the 'surprise refund' but that just never worked with this kid.) I really was tired of the shenanigans when he was 23 and he wasn't showing signs of maturing into a responsible adult. When he moved out 6 months later, he got back $1800 and seems to be doing much better than this time last year.
Nice thread, penguin.

ok, so i've been doing a lot of thinking about my relationship with my jw boyfriend, and while i haven't made any final decisions regarding what i'm going to do just yet, i can't help but feel like a hypocrite, and i feel terrible about it.. jws are so intolerant, they can't accept others who are different than they are, they try to force their beliefs and rules on others, they judge others based on wts standards and such, so how does it make me any different to judge him on his beliefs??
i never judge people based on their belief systems or lifestyles unless it hurts someone else - i grew up being taught that everyone is different, that doesn't make them bad and that we shouldn't judge others because they're different, my mother's favourite saying is "to each his own" and i follow that myself - so why am i considering breaking up with my boyfriend because his beliefs are different from mine??
i'm trying to decide whether or not to break up with him - it's not an easy decision, he's a great person and he treats me very well - but i can't help but feel like i'm no better than an intolerant jw, judging him based on his religion.
so why am I considering breaking up with my boyfriend because his beliefs are different from mine??
As I recall from your prior posts, your concerns are not over his beliefs but, rather, his actions, his inflexibility and his refusal to discuss some things. The actual 'beliefs' had nothing to do with it.
And some of his actions are having negative effect on your life.
