In my experience, people belonging to (codified way of worship x) rarely believe everything taught by (codified way of worship x), and they often are not even certain that (codified way of worship x) is any better than (codified way of worship y).
For instance, in my experience, Jehovah's Witnesses rarely believe everything taught by Jehovah's Witnesses.

tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.
the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.
through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

If I lied to protect my wife from physical harm, I wouldn't call it spirit-directed, or God's will, or Theocratic (God-Ruled) War Strategy. I would call it what it was, a lie to protect my wife from physical harm.

Acts 5:1-11 is an account of deceit to put a better than genuine face on reality.
I do not see any connection between individuals lying to protect loved ones and religious organizations deceiving their adherents to keep up a false pretense of spiritual virginity. That is my response.

I am not convinced of the accuracy of the emode test for measuring Intelligence Quotient. When I took their IQ test some years ago I got "Philosopher Sage 148," tonight I got "Numerical Logician 141." Both added, "The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you a (whatever it said you are). Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities."
I think they deduct 20 points off the top if you took their test.

Yes. I see every person here as real, even the ones who are posting under persona not reflecting their true nature. I am sure that creates temporary prejudices in my mind because it necessitates using my imagination to flesh out a character to respond to, but being aware of the temporary nature of my imagined character I quickly throw away my preconceptions when something posted changes my picture of that person.
