Jehovah's Chiropractors

We also had a chiropractor, he ended getting DF'd for sleeping with his JW secretary who happened to be married to an elder. For some reason the "sister" didn't get DF'd although her husband lost his privileges, the chiro though got DF'd and left.
I know some relatives right now that are into "Body Talk" and evidently are getting some heat from the congregation about it being wrong.

KM in 1974 praising people for selling all their stuff and pioneering?
by ithinkisee insomeone on this site mentioned they got a km off ebay that praised those that sold all their belongings and preached.. does anyone know which km that was?.
interesting, when going through the society's cd-rom i noticed that the drama for the district convention in 1975 was about noah's ark and was something along the lines of "there's still time left!
" (i'm paraphrasing).. -dm

What is really sad how many people bought into it, and then didn't leave because they were so programmed to believe the end was so near, they can't chance it and leave, it might come any day... they have too much time invested into the belief to leave.
My mother became a JW in 1974 in the frenzy ... she gave up a lot to be a JW. She can't quit now.

Could a Coup Reform the Watchtower?
by metatron init's interesting to speculate about the fact that legal authority may have been removed from the governing body.
with the intent of protecting them from appearing in court.
when they announced that the organization was to be led.

I have often seen things in people's personal lives and wanted to intervene, but I have learned over the years the best thing to do is NOTHING. Given enough time, people hang themselves.
The WTS is against EVOLUTION, but think about it, the WTS is evolving now, and given all the change in power something is bound to happen. We just have to give it time.

Bethelites... Could they live in a commune?
by JustTickledPink ini thought about the logistics of armeggedon coming today... and the earth being a wordwide natural disaster.
about what would be needed, camping skills, farming skills, etc... and i thought of the average bethalite who has been binding books for the last 20 years, or cleaning toilets, or cooking in a modern kitchen all their lives... .
could the average bethalite move from the brooklyn lifestyle right into a commune type lifestyle and make it?

I saw the tsunami disaster and the supplies needed... if God is going to restore the planet to the Garden of Eden, that means that it will be just plain earth. There was no survival kits, no medical supplies, no instructions... Adam and Eve were just put out there naked.
Isn't that what everyone was taught? That the Garden of Eden was going to be restored? Well, then it would be in very primal conditions.

Long time apostate, first time poster.
by mtbatoon in.
just found this site today and as well as being amused, concerned and shocked at some of the stuff i?ve found here, reading the bios and posts of other ex jw?s has in a way made me feel a little bit less alone in the world.
don?t get me wrong, i?m not an emotionally scared loner, it?s like i?ve finally found someone else to stand outside morning assemble with.

The story was more about me feelings, although I do wonder if she is happy.
I do know that about a year or two after they got married, she was extremely unhappy with the marriage and sex .... I remember her telling me that the only time she was going to have sex with him was to get pregnant.... Shortly after having her child, they bought a new house and she moved into a seperate bedroom. I really have no idea if that is still the arragement, but it could very well be.
Happiness isn't something I measure JWs on anyways.

Could the average Bethalite move from the Brooklyn lifestyle right into a commune type lifestyle and make it? The thought of it is just laughable. I think if anyone would survive a global disaster and move forward with life, it would be the Amish or the Mormons who have stockpiled goods.

A brief history of Watchtower simplification (Jehovah's Blessing)
by truthseeker inwith the latest insider news regarding the awake magazine going to a monthly publication, now would be a good time to examine a brief history of how jehovah has blessed the organization by simplifying it.
1993 paid for literature went to donation-based literature.
mid 1990s no food at assemblies and conventions.

"The faithful slave has given us a new provision that we bring our own toilet roll with us to the district conventions."
Actually that already has happened. My mother's cousin is a JW missionary in Cote D'voire, Africa (has been for 20 years I think) anyways, they carry their own toilet paper to the conventions because they can't afford the supplies, or else the toilet paper runs out in the morning and there is no more. She told us that story about 10 years ago.

How do you feel about.....
by bagpuss ingoing back to a kingdom hall?.
recently i've had a couple of visits from jws while i was at work.
each time they left a message that the co was going to be visiting this week and that it would be good if i went to the meeting.. i was really surprised at the strong reaction i had to the thought of going to a meeting again.

I wouldn't be able to physically stand it. If I was forced for some reason, being a girl I would show up in pants, bring a Cosmo magazine and read through the whole thing.
I can't imagine putting on another long assed skirt and "modest" blouse and sitting there like a robot.
