i started fading two and a half years ago... and i have never been contacted once.
not even a call to see how i was doing.
my mom is still a diehard dub and doesn't even think it unusual.
I've been gone 10 years and the ONLY phone call I ever received was 5 years ago when my mom siced the elders on me for having a boyfriend. They said if I didn't come and have a JC meeting with them I would be disfellowshipped.
Well pretty sure after not hearing or seeing from someone in 5 years I really could care less about going and having a "meeting" with them. Forget it.
Consider yourself lucky.

after this weekend i'm off to the usa for 3 weeks (central florida).. i'm already thinking how much i'll miss reading your posts.
anyway, i'll keep reading until tuesday, then i'll see you all in november.. i've been to florida before & i'll do the roller coasters etc in the main theme parks - anywhere else you think i should visit?
Are you going to take in a beach trip? Orlando is a straight shot to the beach either east or west coast ... usually an hour away. I live beachside and I love it. I think my favorite places in FL are Fort Lauderdale, South Beach Miami (it's interesting to just look around) and the Keys for snorkeling or diving if you're certified. I think the beaches on the west coast are the nicest, if you can spend a weekend in Clearwater. You won't regret it, the ocean is calmer on the gulf and you can swim out quite a ways without it getting too deep too fast.

Seriously, Jesus own disciples believed they were in the last days.... people all over believe it because they are too chicken chit to actually LIVE THEIR LIFE TODAY.
They would rather wait on someone to come and clean everything up and make a paradise for them in a nice cushy bed than work for it themselvees
to show what we are really made of.
i have been going through extreme stress, almost disstress.
i will not reveal what it is at this time.
If you keep doing what you're doing, you will keep getting the same results.
Therefore, change what you're doing. Do something opposite of the stress, if it's work, leave work go to a park and walk amongst the trees for an hour or so until your body destresses. If it's church or religion stuff that has you in knots, quit reading for a while, give yourself a break. Try going to Barnes and Noble and reading some fluff, get a novel, get immersed in something else.
Some of the constant news coverage is depressing as well, so if you're watching the news everyday TURN THE TV OFF. Rent a movie, watch cartoons, just ease up on the heavy duty stuff.

I think stuff like that is total BS. I mean really, I doubt anyone shed tears at the KH when I didn't show up. Please.
Just because you didn't choose to be a lawyer, cook, gardner, mechanic etc like you Dad and grandfather doesn't mean your parents shouldn't talk to you. I think religion should be a choice just as your profession should be your choice. I see no difference.

I'm having Thanksgiving at my house this year.... should I invite my mother and then ask her to prove to me why celebrating a day of thanks is pagan?
There really is no explanation for it. Every Witness is off work that day anyhow in the US, it's a HUGE holiday, so everyone sits around and eats and watches football but they make sure there is no turkey involved. It's truly ridiculous.
I'm sorry but I just don't buy into it. Yes, those people probably did grab onto the one and only truck they saw as they fled from the last Hurricane but they aren't hauling people out like that.
The dogs, I am not even sure I believe the picture has anything to do with the storm.

I never thought we should have gone over there, still don't. But now that we've opened the can of worms I think it's best to fix what we can but get the hell out of there asap.

Any day now, that's why time is running out for those us who haven't gotten the elders seal of approval and gotten re-instated.
Most JWs think it's right around the corner because if they allowed themselves to think it's not coming, they would lose themselves.
I'd love to make a bet with one of them though,....hey if it doesn't come in another 10 years you'll quit telling me it's the "truth" and that it's near.
wow,,, finaly a site that can let a disgraesed and disfellowshipped jw finally, have there say, i had the jw's hanging over my head for years and senior members of my family drop in and out of the sect as and when it suits them, dragging any remaiming members with.
im now free and relived so are you too, .
and im probably kinder and non racial than those left in, and i dont live under a shadow of fear, or wear a flowery dress, or high neck tops and granny shoes,.
