  as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

  and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

  after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

  finally, after almost a month, i get a response from my mother about the un.

  for those who didnt see her original letter and my response, just click on the sheet of paper icon in my profile and you can catch up on this.. i will place my comments in italics and names will be replaced in parentheses.. .

  Ranchette, I am sorry you got stone walled by your mom. If you ever get the chance, you might want to explain to her that non-belief in the trinity, hellfire, imortal soul is not unique to the JW's and Russell himself got it from someone else.

  So if she thinks it's the truth and they can do whatever they want just as long as those basic teachings remain the same well....

  Also, you might want to ask her what she would do if the GB were to change any one of those teachings. What would she do then? Would she join the "Bible Students" or any other group who "sticks to the truth."

  And she seems to be under the belief that YOU consider the UN the "wild beast." You might want to make it clear to her that you DO NOT consider the UN the wild beast. In effect, you are merely pointing out that what the WTS did is tantamount to the RCC secretly supporting Planned Parenthood.

  Best of luck to you. You deserve better than what you got!

  its obvious at this point that the wts is covering this thing up.. here is an idea about how we might get the un scandal out to the masses.

  Scary, I am mulling over your idea and just wanted you to know I'm not ignoring you.

  Initially, it frightens me to give the dubs any more of a "persecution complex" than they already have.

  On the other hand, they are bound to be curious when they see a UN flag. If something like this were done, it would definitely have to be stated as only the facts and not in the least bit inflammatory or "hyped."

  Hope some other people post their opinions re this.

  but i will try and leave out here for as long as i can.. it is an email i have sent to my dad.

  MSIL, I just got back to this thread and read all your subsequent posts. I am with everyone else who wants to show you love and support. You must be of very strong character to be able to share these things with us. Take care (((((((MSIL))))))

  Kent, I agree with you about making some people "famous." They say everyone gets their three minutes of fame. But ultimately, MSIL needs to do what is the healthiest for himself. No matter what his decision is, he's already a hero in my book.

  YK, I feel soooo sorrryyyy for you. I say this with all sincerity of heart. I really do feel for you. You must really love the WTS, your God, so much. No matter what the leaders do, you will always dig into the bible and find an example of someone to use as an excuse.

  It must be so hard for you to see your God making these mistakes with his organization that he uses. And to see him stumbling his own children -- because, of course, you know that if he is guiding the WTS and they affiliated with the UN and people are "stumbled" because of it then it is really Jehovah who stumbled them. And where, by the way, is Jesus in all of this? If he really has been running the show since 1914, he's a pretty incompetent leader.

  Never lose your faith in your God, You Know. After all, there is nowhere to go. All other religions make mistakes too. But of course, those religions can't use the bible characters as their excuse because it doesn't apply to them. The GB has already staked a claim to those bible characters. So they can't possibly apply to any other religious leaders who have also made mistakes.

  But you already know that, don't you. You Know, I'm glad you are able to withstand all of these "stumbling blocks" It would be a sad day indeed if you were ever "stumbled" by the Governing Body whom you worship as your God by giving absolute obedience to them the way we are required to give only to God. Take care, You Know.

  Tom, I will be contacting you by telephone today. I am interested in your press release and "synopsis". I want to see your approach. I think it's time some more of us get up off of our asses and start getting the word out. I can't reach my sister because she wont listen but I still have hundreds of contacts in the WTS. I want to reach as many people as possible and I think a good article in a local paper would be very helpful in this regard. A person can always refer to the paper and not even mention the internet.

  Catholic Guy's comparing this situation to the Catholic Church secretly being involved in Planned Parenthood really hit home. I'm sure if this analogy is used with even the most brain dead dub, it will plant some serious issues. Down the line, it could be the thing that gets them to notice other discrepancies in the literature eventually freedom.

  Hawk etal, Just wanted youguys to know that this information is definitely hitting home! It is not a waste. It is plain as day as I said a long time ago that the best thing that could happen was that they get kicked out or they disassociate. The status they will lose will cause them to lose big time $$$ in the world. And we all know that the GNASHING OF THEIR TEETH begins when they lose the $$$$.

  Keep up the good work. I have an uncle who works for the UN. I am going to call him up this weekend. Maybe that's another avenue we could use to get info - although youguys seem to be on top of that!

  MSIL: I can see why this UN issue hit you so hard. I don't blame you for being angry. I am angry too and I didn't go through what you went through. If your dad is walking around saying, "It can't be true, it can't be true." It is not such a bad thing.

  He read the information. It will take time for it to sink in. He will pay closer attention. The way the WTS responds to this issue may be the thing that makes him want to leave. Just be patient.

  On the other hand, my sister would not even sit with me or read anything from me. So she will never have the information in her head to make her think. At least your dad knows. She doesn't have a clue.

  Visit to UN

  i had my day with the "beast" <rofl>... funny, the un seemed pretty nice.. i wasn't even scared <g>.. i even learned quite a bit about the un itself... unfortunatly, i could not get my hands on a hard copy of the ngo list.

  everyone i talked to said they are out of stock currently, and having new ones printed up.. (gee, i wonder why <g>).... and, i didn't even try to get to the library because of all the security.. they were just crawling everywhere.. every room had a police officer in it, just standing there, even if the room was empty!!!.

  i had to actually walk 3 blocks to get to the united nations, as they won't let anyone in a car within 3 blocks of the complex (including taxi's).. .
