  Thanks Happyman, certainly an evil bunch of B...........s.

  However, it has been my contention that evilness is judged not by the sheer numbers of people hurt but by intention and motive.

  The terrorist who is originally driven by political ideals ,convinces himself that a better world can only come about through the death of expendable casualities -( sounds a bit familiar to ex JW's!)

  Contrast that with the serial rapist or murderer who may kill 1,2 or 3 people but his motive is entirely selfish - his own gratification is all that matters . There was a man called Westerfield (spelling? ) recently convicted for a horrible crime, and in the U K a man is awaiting trial folllowing the murders of two little girls in Cambridgeshire.

  The I R A killed perhaps 28 people in Omagh, is that less evil than killing 2800 in New York? I think not.

  Evil and wickedness are conditions of the human heart and cannot be judged in numbers.

  Circumference. The circumference of 30 cubits is evidently a round figure, for more precisely it would be 31.4 cubits. In this regard, Christopher Wordsworth quotes a certain Rennie as making this interesting observation: "Up to the time of Archimedes [third century B.C.E.], the circumference of a circle was always measured in straight lines by the radius; and Hiram would naturally describe the sea as thirty cubits round, measuring it, as was then invariably the practice, by its radius, or semi-diameter, of five cubits, which being applied six times round the perimeter, or brim, would give the thirty cubits stated. There was evidently no intention in the passage but to give the dimensions of the Sea, in the usual language that every one would understand, measuring the circumference in the way in which all skilled workers, like Hiram, did measure circles at that time. He, of course, must however have known perfectly well, that as the polygonal hexagon thus inscribed by the radius was thirty cubits, the actual curved circumference would be somewhat more."   i always thought what a bore it would be, i mean afterall its a very special day in your life why do it at such a boring place?

  howdy pleasuresome, only just got your post on another thread saying who you were!

  i was away for 2 days and am away again tomorrow for 2 more days....anyway great to see you here, i just started posting here a month ago (and 100 posts already lol, c'mon you need to get a move on and catch up).

  btw concerning your "wt police" post, i also went to wolverhampton conventions but used to volunteer most of the time which meant i had to go to other conventions, mostly cardiff but sometimes cpalace.

  Back in the late 80's /early 90's some friends of mine were on "Security" at Crystal Palace Assembly . They excitedly told me that the plan was to look out for anyone suspicious and then approach them in a friendly way - if they were still not satisfied they would call on the heavy mob of senior security to deal with them

  You must have looked suspicious.

  we were talking again last night, and he actually for the first time said he would look at the information that i have found.

  i have the coc book, and i dont want to throw a whole bunch of stuff at him at one time.

  I must be different to some people. Instances of lack of love and Organisational errors , I would have put down to human failing . For me It was reasoning on several key issues that made me realise that the WT was just another Human organisation.

  i) The time of the end has been in force for 88 years! If Armageddon is due , how long are we going to keep waiting?

  2) Does everyone out there deserve to die because they fail to recognise the WTS? Are our corpses fit only to be spread as manure on the ground? . No way ! Our Father is not that sort of a God.

  3) The Chronology that is used to calculate the date 1914 is totally off the wall. C of C is very good about that . I loved the bit when he was compiling the "Aid Book" , tried hard to justify it to himself and had to write it anyway.

  4) The blood issue does not make sense any more. The "New light" has muddied the waters so much that the clear principle is lost . Check out the ajwrb.com website.

  5) The maths that say that ALL the 1st century Christians , plus all the remnant of 19th/20th century haveto be covered by 144,000 - is not credible . Over 90,000 partook in 1925.

  6) Why should people having the misfortune to be around at Armagedon die horribly with no hope of a ressurection - but the previous generations all come back for a second chance?

  7) Talking of generations, the revised view of the "Generation" of Matt 24 34 never made sense.

  8) The current paedophile problems expose moral shortcomings on a scale that I could never have imagined.

  Taking this letter at face value :-

  I am very disappointed that there is not a clear direction to report the case to the authorities. I had really hoped that they had learned a lesson from all this.

  Anyway, was the BBC acting as apostate when it showed the Scottish congregation in Panorama? Was it apostate lies that a brother in Rugby got convicted ?

  They cannot deny that a problem exists - although they try to do so.

  Also , to be judged repentant a person had to be willing to make restitution for his wrongdoing. I recall theives actually going to the Police Station to confess . Why are not molestors forced to confess to "Caesar" or be seen as unrepentant?

  4th Generation Witnesses and Maybe more ?

  just read a thread about a guy being a forth generation witness and a question came to mind.

  how is it that jw's can rationalize the end being always "just around the corner" when there is soon to be 4th, 5th, and maybe 6th generation witnesses?

  just how is it that the previous generations can continue to follow so blindly after one failed prediction after another of never getting old in this "system of things"?.

  Straight out of Orwell's 1984.

  The more that I think on that statement the more true it seems. "Big Brother is always right even when ,to a rational person, he is patently wrong. He demands unswerving loyalty , has spies to report wrongdoing, even "Thought crimes". He keeps his followers alert to a constant state of warfare ,no one else can be trusted. I am sure I could go on and on.

  Yes of course it is a contradiction for 3rd & 4th generatins of dubs to keep believing in the imminent end, strange thing is that when you are within it , you do not seem to mind too much .. "If Jehovah allows it ..............." seems to be the attitude,with a shrug of the shoulders. No one wants to face the nasty questions because that would be too traumatic , and be disloyal to "Big Brother "

  these few lines to relate an experience with a "friend" who insisted to say that.

  the wbts never tells (writes) lies but when differences are found they are only.

  due to " genunine " mistakes.

  Asking reasonable questions and searching Gods Word and Christian publications to find Scriptural answers can increase our accurate knowledge and can thus strengthen our confidence in Jehovah.

  in other words , look up the "Insight" book and believe what you are told.
