video conferencing systems are being installed in kingdumb halls.
this is being charged to the congregations.. the ability to video conference, zoom, directly from the halls will now be the thing.. i believe that the current situation has given the wts an idea.. if there are two kingdom halls in an area, then one can be sold.. congregations will split the use, half using the hall one week and zooming the next and visa versa..
Technology in K.Halls enables live video from Bethel and allows the cong to broadcast meetings via " Live Kingdom Hall" and KHConf apps,The log in codes for these are carefully guarded by elders and only given to the very elderly or infirm . That is to preserve meeting attendance ,in normal times.
When this virus thing is over and meetings start again, they won't want people sitting at home.

garden centres are opening in wales on monday, in england on wednesday, but by the looks of things, are far too dangerous to open them anytime soon in scotland or n.i.
That is the result of devolution. .. you give semi autonomy to Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland and they have to take responsibility for themselves.
it's been an emotional few weeks going through old watchtower literature, i mean old.
i have saved many things, some you have never seen.
particularly related to 1975, i have wts literature, even a big newspaper article about the 1975 prediction.. today, i started going through the reel to reel tapes.
We have got a load of old Watchtower stuff back through the 70's and further .. people on this board used to ask for articles and we would scan and post here , but I think most of it ,and more,can be found on line now. We lived through the 60s and 70's and well remember the excitement we all felt.... but '75 was 45 years ago now. That seems not to matter to the faithfull.....

They were held in town halls, school assembly halls ...anywhere. once I remember an army drill hall with a large field gun at the back.
We used to have food though. The temporary kitchens they built would grace an army ....health and safety? . Hot dinners on trays plus a cold buffet... better than taking sandwiches .
Looking back... yes they were fun, .meeting friends , helping (or hindering) the workers . The programme was often more like amateur theatrics too.
i have known many elders who were much more into the idea of being an elder and getting all the old ladies to tell them what wonderful talks they give and the power then really being a believer.
i had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap.
i knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult.
I have known too many that were more about their job than being a Christian.
Having been on the BOE, I hope nobody saw me that way. I will say though, that when you are in that position, the job can easily take over. Each meeting is an opportunity to see the other elders and discuss things that seem so important. The pressure to report good field service while preparing then delivering talks and items is so great that the original faith can get easily forgotten.

She should really be more accurate in her description of J.W’s because nowhere have the Organisation taught that this is the end . That must be the assumption of crass individuals.
She lambasts her husband but the worst she can say is that he makes the children say their prayers. There are millions of Christian families who do that.

some towns in massachusetts are fining people 1000 dollars for not wearing a mask 😷 outdoors.
starting wednesday, the governor mandates everyone from 2 years of age up, must wear a mask or get a 300 dollar fine!.
of course some governors are recommending that you rat out anyone that doesn’t follow their orders.. i don’t like it!👎🏿.

If the U K government want us to wear masks , which largely protect others more than ourselves, I will do so. A lot of people do already. These are strange times . We have to accept some rules and restrictions on us, for the sake of the community.
In WW2 tbey had restrictions on freedom. E.g. those at home could not show a light from the window after dark . It was a blackout . If your curtains let light through or a chink showed , the ARP warden gave a last warning prior to a fine...We are in a war against this virus, we have to accept rules. Ss they used to say :
"Don't you know there's a war on?"
firstly for anyone leaving is don’t get involved in alcohol, drugs, parties, and sleeping around, because it will just come back and bite you in the arse.. i have a theory that those who leave the religion at an older age do better than those who leave at a younger age.
i think to that the reasons for leaving are quite different between the age groups.
i sometimes wonder if many of the under 30’s use the short comings of the religion, as an excuse to pursue the above mentioned life style.
I left in late middle age, because I had seen the truth about "The Truth" . The family were shocked of course and believed that I would go the way of 'worldly men' , grow a beard, get drunk, chase women and end up leaving them . That is what a lot of dubs think , whether it is taught by WT or not.
That made me more resolved to not do those things ( I might have tried a beard except I had to look smart for work ) Instead be the best person I could reasonably be. I also recognized that I had caused them problems so tried to be nice.
20 years later the relationships are better than they were when I was an overworked and stressed Elder , I can only speak for myself. If I had been free to try the other things when I was young and single, who knows?
this link had to do with the experience that was given by a young witness pioneer in the phillipines convention and her take was on return to jehovah .. an old time friend from the past sent me this link a couple of weeks ago trying to encourage me to come back to the religion and asked me what i thought of it ?.
i said i would if she could reply to my 2 questions first fair enough ?
so far i haven`t heard back from her and i will let you know if and when i do.. the 2 questions i asked her was to do with jehovah`s name and the christian greek scriptures ,especially the ki publication the wt brought out ,the word for word greek to english that didn`t have an equivalent greek word for jehovah .. and the other one was to do with the charge that was given to christians ,followers of jc to witness about jesus with over 20 such scriptures and not one saying anything about being a witness for jehovah anywhere in the nt.. over the years she has always still kept in touch, a little bit eccentric and we had a lot to do with her family and mine back in the day when we were all believers .. .and she is not backward in coming forward about having a go at the elders who she doesn`t agree with .. at the time i looked at the link and have posted somewhere else about it on this forum and mentioned i didn`t see anything about "returning to jehovah" in it .. anyway this was a few weeks ago and i was still waiting to hear from her..today we got mail from her ,,slow mail ,even though we have each others e-mail address .and in the envelope was only the wt "return to jehovah " and inside a $50 note.?.
I am sure you at least thanked her for the $50......
