Interesting question but looking at the JW Library it seems to relate the wild beast out the abyss , that killed the two witnesses, to the wild beast out of the sea in Rev. 13 . They say that the terms “the sea” and “the abyss” can both be drawn from the Greek word.
The teaching is therefore that the political system jailed Rutherford and co , not the League or the UNO
growing up around the faith, whenever i heard something taught, i'd always think there is a different way of looking at that, probably better.. we always hear "this good news of the kingdom will be preached... " matt 24:14.. so i think, is there more to it than preaching the kingdom?.

The previous post , Ozzie, is quite right . They teach , unscripturally , that it is their organisation that counts, not your love of Christ.
They also teach Jehovah’s kingdom, downgrading the appointed king Jesus.

I must agree with FFGhost.. this sudden rush to reopen seems a complete U Turn from their previous safety first policy.
Around here ( UK) the word is to expect a sort of hybrid meeting from April 1st with the young and fit in attendance and the old and vulnerable watching digitally.

This announcement yesterday surprised me and a lot of others . I understand that in the U S the pandemic is viewed as nearly over , perhaps that is the driver of it, but that only proves the accusation that the Borg is too USA centric.
In the U.K. new infections have risen this week by a staggering 50% ! We have 12000 in hospital with it and deaths are between 100 and 200 every day. The government have relaxed restrictions but that is seen as due more to do with politics and the economy, than medical advice
So it is the timing that surprises and it being a global thing rather than gradually as conditions locally allow. I know of at least two older ones who separately say they flatly refuse to attend until it’s over.

if so, i'm sorry.. my conundrum is this.... i am almost completely certain that an awake back in the 80's/90's mentioned a group of rock bands we shouldn't listen to and i seem to remember them actually naming guns and roses.. i can't find anything now, and i'm wondering if it's the mandela effect, or if it's another case of the cdrom versions of the awakes being doctored again.. does anyone else remember this?

I well remember the articles against heavy rock “metal” music. I was an elder at the time and I loved heavy rock music...it was my release from the stresses and anxiety of life. I believed the Org. Was the truth then , but I could see that this was just human reasoning largely culled from other religious writers.....
I still bought G&R c ds , played them in headphones. Actually they were a band that had a lot to offer, not just thumping rock. Their version of “Knocking On Heavens Door” and songs like November Rain and Civil War , show that they were a cut above the others.

since i have been out for years, i am wondering how often do the watchtower encourage r&f to do more informal witnessing?

Especially during the pandemic, they have done it more than ever..
2022-02-17-- watchtower defense manuals on the loss of state support in norway.. .
the english manual is 32 pages long and the norwegian manual is 40 pages long.
both manuals are in this file folder.. .
They ought to read “Crisis of Conscience “ where Ray Franz describes in detail how he was d/f’d for having association with a person, his employer, who had d/a’d himself.
How can an organisation that upholds truth and honesty as a sacred command from God, resort to these distortions of the truth when it suits them? Words fail me
if that had occured wouldn't that have given us confidence and faith for when the big one comes?

There are strong rumours that I have heard from multiple sources , that they were advised to leave the country if they could……. And a good many did.
Of course with something like 120,000 of them it was never going to be 100% so they fear for the ones who could not get out.
