The link that Disolusioned JW put up is very good in respect of the original question as to the early Christian’s serving in the Roman army . It would appear that the early Christian writers spoke against it but over the next 200 years or so, of course some no doubt did.
I am not going to say anymore on the attitude we should have today. People have intractable positions.

I do not see that when Paul wrote 1 Corinthians 7 ,which is the scripture to which we have referred, he was tacitly addressing soldiers. His remarks are to slaves and he later brings in married men , to be content with their lot.
The lack of Scriptural references to soldiers could suggest that there were none in the congregation…… perhaps?

The secular law used ( or not) in modern conflicts has no bearing on a Christian’s responsibility to free from blood guilt.
It is easy to hide behind the conscience salving claim that “ I was serving my country “ but that attitude has enabled wars to proliferate.
We do not know what happened to Cornelius or what he did , so that is no excuse for a Christian to take up arms .

When I was a little boy I told everyone that in the New World I was going to have a pet lion…. As I grew older I wondered about the literalness of that prophecy , even the WT sometimes said it could refer to people changing their personality, then another article made it literal.
As an adult with more knowledge I quietly kept my own thoughts on that belief , while still a dub. I knew now the massive re-creation it would need to change an animal’s digestion and teeth to “ eat grass like a bull” . TD has masterfully explained that above.
Now I know that it is all b/s anyway. This doctrine should indicate to any prospective Bible Student of the WTS that they all live in cloud cuckoo land!
We are discussing Study article 19, I am afraid the link given above was to next week’s study . As to their teaching on to whom the Revelation was directed, and who are the Slaves.. they now say ‘ we ‘ and ‘us’ as though it includes all the Other Sheep .
The revised Revelation Book on line said “ The apostle John, who wrote down Revelation, describes himself as such a slave. He was the last surviving apostle and one of the select spirit-anointed group of “slaves” that inherit immortal life in the heavens.”
So they have changed it, So what? They do flip flops and tweaks to teaching all the time . I doubt that anybody up the K/hall noticed.

The notion that Climate Change is either unproven or discredited “propaganda “ is itself an untrue statement that regurgitates the American Right political propaganda .
Climate change is real, it is happening. Ask those who live in tha Arctic or The Australian continent. To some extent we can all feel it . Only those with vested interests would remain in a state of denial.
