Wife Abuse

As has been noted, it is officially condemned by the organization.
But in practice it is often condoned by local BOE's. I remember a dearly loved sister who went to the elders to get some help getting away from a very abusive husband. The elders said they couldn't get involved. She ended up dead.
My wife was abused by her first husband. And the abuse continued after he divorced her. He would show up at her house, kick in the door, and beat her up, even putting her in the hospital right before a memorial celebration. The attitude of her elders was that she brought it all on herself because she wasn't as good a wife as she should be.
After I came into the picture, a mutual acquaintance who'd seen me humiliate a knife wielding thug empty-handed one night years earlier, went to the man and told him that I was the last person on earth he needed to piss-off. He told him that I was in a whole different class as a fighter than my wife's ex had ever encountered before and that, for all his vaunted prowess as a bar fighter, he wouldn't even give me a serious warm-up. That ended the abuse.
And he was right, since I'd fallen in love with the lady, I would not let my status as a Witness stop me from catching him one night and rather forcefully driving the lesson home that she was now off-limits.
Under the right circumstances I can be just as mean and ruthless as the man portrayed in my avatar.

Here's how the Society can get out of the "anointed" dilemma

The easiest way is to declare that the number 144,000 is symbolic instead of literal.
There is ample evidence to do so in the text from which it is taken, namely the book of Revelation itself. since they already treat just about every other number mentioned in the book as symbolic of one thing or another, they would only be acting consistently with the rest of their interpretation.

World warming?
Since we've been coming out of an ice age since about the early mid-1800s it sure is. But is it caused by man? since the chief culprit is alleged to be man's use of carbon based fuels for the last thirty or forty year, I rather doubt it. And that is what the whole argument is about. The activists claim that man is solely responsible for the warming. "Skeptics" say the evidence doesn't really back that claim up.
That Weather Channel founder is a scientist who is more qualified than most of us to evaluate the evidence and his opinion shouldn't be taken lightly.

Ben Stein's point is that the scientists are closing their minds to the evidence and demanding that everybody else do the same.
And its true. Instead of honestly discussion the scientific leaders are doing everything they can to silence different views. That is a fact. It still amuses me that almost two hundred years after proving that life cannot spontaneously arise, they are now insisting that it did. I even saw Stephen Hawkins declare "that life spontaneously arose" on a TV special. His reasoning? "We are here, therefore life had to have spontaneously arose." In other words, our very presence is proof that the impossible happened. Talk about a closed mind!

What, according to you, is "traditional morality"?
That morality which has been accepted by our Western Judeo-Christian civilization for millenia. That is sex only within marriage between a man and a woman who are committed to each other for lifeas the ideal. Our Western civilization isn't the only one which followed that standard of morality, nor the only one to start descending into chaos after departing from it.
Also, what makes "traditional morality" superior or desirable?
Well, I think historical experience demonstrates its desirability for a society. Civilizations which followed it prospered, those who didn't fell by the wayside. By the way, the same question can and should be asked of the morality you are defending Sirona.

The word homophobia is just a the usual penchant the left has for demonizing those who choose not to accept their views. The word is a combination of two Greek words, homo, or same, and phobia, or fear. Unfortunately phobia is used in the clinical sense of an unreasonable and pathological fear of a thing. Thus, by calling someone homophobic, the inference is that the person has a psychotic fear of homosexuals. In other words it is calling those who stand up for traditional morality mentally sick.
It is another example of the left's fine tolerance for other views than its own.

Why make prophecies cryptic?

i just want to know why god would inspire a prophecy about a giant tree, bowls of anger, seven headed animals, the moon turning to blood, the sun going dark, the sea turning to blood, everything else turning to blood multiple times.. counting things in days when he actually means years, using 'times' which don't meen anything.

It would make absolutely no sense to live a pious life with all it restrictions on conduct until right before the end date. Much of the WTBTS's eschatology is Freddy Franz's obsession with types and anti-types. While the Bible does mention a few "types" it does tell us what those are. Freddy just had to go overboard and see types hidden in just about everything. Or maybe he was just keeping the Rank-and-file from getting bored by always being able to generate a new book every year with some new type to be understood. Go figure!
