Ive got many questions about the organization, NWT, etc. But I cant go to her family at all. They will not have a favorable view unless I buy whatever they tell me. I have a good friend at the KH, but Iam not sure I can trust him with the serious questions I have. This will crush my GF if she finds out. Any suggestions?

my mother doesn't speak to me although she will exchange emails with me.
we actually don't communicate much, but recently i sent her a few emails detailing things are wrong with the watchtower society.
her responses are laughable... but i am still printing out articles and mailing them to her about the un scandle, she of course doesn't believe it.. but has anyone sucessfully made any headway talking to a dyed in the wool jw and made any progress?
honestly, shes been in for 40 years. She doesnt want to hear what you have to say as much as you dont want to listen to what she has to say. Shes old, try to be the bigger person and compromise. If you cant, never discuss religion with her. You may never agree. Let it go

Conditional love? That is one awful thought.
Here is one thing that bothers me the most about the organization: Why do they do the things they do? Is it just keeping status quo? These people believe in it enought to shun family, etc. So why? What does the organization get out of it? What does it matter how much time for field service? What is the primary motive? To help people?

There is no way to make this easier, I guess.
I do thank everyone that posted to my topic. I wish walking away was easy, but as most of you know, its not. I will keep posting on this board and reading topics listed. I will never stop questioning and learning. I do know that the people that truly believe in the organization, believe in it whole heartedly. These are good people and if thats what they choose, its fine with me. I just dont know what my choice is. And I dont want the choice made for me.

OK, I guess I can tell a little more of my story since I dont know any of you personally.....I hope. One of her family members is a elder. There family is really cool to me and always has been. Will this change at some point if I pursue marriage without being baptised? Would you choose love over religion? I have many questions, but not answers.
Anyone else fall in love with JW, have them return that love.....but have religion stand in the way of longterm happiness?

Iam very new to this forum. So glad to meet all of you. Ive been reading here for quite a while but never felt the need to join in. There is a lot of good info on here. Now a little about me and my questions.
Ive been going out with a JW girl for a little while. Shes been getting me to study, etc. I really like her and she feels the same about me. But Iam having a hard time understanding their position on certain things. Birthdays really bother me, because the bible does not say "dont celebrate", etc. But when I study, they always have a answer for every question I ask.
Is there any question are scripture that just does not agree with JW teaching? Are is this like all christianity with opinion, subjectivity, and objectivity sometimes relating to the question or not?
