Good luck to you!
I too hope to reach this goal soon in the future!
But I am fairly new here and enjoy stopping by, wish I`d have
found this years ago!
as 2004 winds down and my 4th year of association at this board winds down as well, my posting stats accurately reflect a transitition that been going on for me with respect to the jw religion, a process that is quite natural and healthy.
i'm sure that many members have had a similar experience.
here's a rundown of four years here for me: .

growing up as a witness makes it nearly impossible to deal with the "world", as a child.
constant pressure is put on witness kids to conform.
most lead a "double life" out of necessity.
Not being allowed to go to college....... we know why!
Not allowed to pursue my dreams of being in a rockband!
My friends I wasn`t allowed to see after we finished high school.
television listings and movie theatres are filled with lots of seasonal films now, and many dvds are also available for films from earlier years.
i confess to having a difficult time selecting just one.
among my favorites would have to be christmas vacation, with chevy chase.
Our favorite is definitely Christmas Story, Ernest Saves Christmas is good,
I also like the Arnold S. one, Jingle all the Way. We have seen Elf repeatedly
and it is very good, of course I love Will Farrell. Waiting to see Polar Express
this weekend when school break starts, I`ve heard great things about this one.
Has anyone seen the Muppets doing the Christmas Carol one??? To funny!
a must see.
are there any?
to restate: when is comes to being friends with someone, are you "obligated" to do certain things?
Oh MY! No I havn`t! Is this a sight to behold?? what I`d I miss?!!
I was refering to your comments on friendship. I agreed.
did you like them?
hate them?
fear them?
Imperfect men, who make their share of mistakes, but had the power
to change anyone else`s lives ( families ) forever ! And not look back
or ahead to see what kind of damage they caused! Do I sound a little
bitter??!
for me it would be smoking, drinking, certain movies/tv shows and my favourite music (which includes eminem :p)
Peace of mind, "guilt-free" feelings, rock-n-roll, and metal music!
Teaching my son that traditions are ok, and a wonderful part of life,
and that his Birthday was the most important day of MY life!

Welcome AloneinOh! I too am a newbie, I just found this forum this
week. I regret not looking sooner for I was a very lost soul for many
years. I feel somewhat at peace here. That video with the girl in the
bumble-bee costume keeps coming to mind!! Take the advice given
and wait to deal with your parents, definitely sit down and open up to your
wife about this though. I have a very supportive hubby who has been my
saving grace for the last 18 years.
i found this great website yesterday, i am going to take several days to read these nice articles and autobiographies with my poor english.
lol, i really like these articles, some ideas are really novel .
i have attended the kingdom hall study for 10 month,(i am freshman.
Welcome Censay! I`m new here too!
Please try and read most of the post here on this forum before you
make a final decision on being baptized. There is lots of important
information here.
jw kids are repressed in every aspect of their lives, creatively, intellectually, atheletically...the list goes on.. what did you love to do as a kid, yet weren't permitted to do?.
i personally loved football as a kid.
other jw kids and i would play every weekend until the subject was brought up at an assembly as being competitive.
WoW! What I would like to know is , is there anyone`s parents who are
at all apologetic or shows any remorse for what their (most of us) kids went
through at such young ages??! All I ever got out of my stepmom was that
"they realized they made a few mistakes".......nothing else! Just that I`m going to
hell ( what! ) and calling me a an apostate. Funny thing is she never asked me first
if I still believed in God!
