i have been asked about a situation in which a former witnesses ladies now ex-husband has been caught exposing himself, and this has gone on for at least 15 years.

he has also exposed himself to some close family members.

the question relates to the wt explaination of "porniea".

Hi, Fair point...why are you bothering. This woman wants to be able to satisfy her jw family that she has been wronged, and wants to be able to justify, using jw logic that she is able to move on with her life. She would like to be able to do that with the possibility of being able to still speak to any of her family that might still want to talk and have contact with her.

I know it is twisted, but then that is what happens after you have been in and are moving away from this destructive sect/cult.

Hi.... remember it is the wt way of discounting the fact that they have it wrong. So regardless of what any secular source might say, if you bag and rubbish the source, that means it is no longer accurate [in jw speak that is] Remember the comments of Ray Franz in Crisis of Conscience. That was part of his job on the writing committee. If you cant find a credible source to back your erroneous position, then criticize the cridible ones. Make them sound wrong.

The have forgotten about all the archeological work done in the 20th century that supports legitimate history

I have been asked about a situation in which a former witnesses ladies now ex-husband has been caught exposing himself, and this has gone on for at least 15 years. He has also exposed himself to some close family members. The question relates to the WT explaination of "porniea". This is obvoiusly beyond masturbation. Whilst I am not sure if the victim actually touched or was force to touch him, it could be argued that there was another person involved willingly or unwillingly. While I have pdf copies of the ks91 and a word document copy that includes my notes, I have been out of the system for over 4 years now and it may not be up to date.

What [in the wt mind] constitutes porniea?

whats the best memorial you DID NOT attend?

every body has a thread about r u attending the memorial or whats gon happen who's gon partake...what i want to know whats the best memorial that you missed or skipped?.

for me it was the first memorial i missed.

i stopped going to the hal in 04 but, got conned into going to the memorial in 05. in 06 i wasn't having any of it.

This will be my 4th non attendance. Had the "elders" here last night with an invite...well, will you come? No I will not be coming. Why would I attend the memorial and not attend any other meeting?

They are all good when you don't go, and it shows that I don't harbor some kind of respect for their arrangement either. Brain dead.

Out of interest, and not wanting some great debate, doesn't the verses in Romans where it talks about the spirit bearing witness etc, say just prior to that that whoever is led by god's spirit is a son of god?

Dont all dubz feel they are being led by god's spirit? They should all be partaking.

Hi all,

Haven't been in for a while. Just wanted to find out when the memorial is. The locals have been in a frenzy.... so should have been able to guess it must be close.

BTW I wouldn't go even if it WERE true.!!

i was asked what i thought when i saw all the bad things going on in the world and about how close we are to the end.

i replied "jeff, i simply do not believe that it's going to happen in my life time.

" he was momentarily stunned and said "well, when have things ever been this bad before?

Just called in to see when the memorial is to be held. Good job Mary. We had a visit today, but sadly we were not home ;-( but out youngets son was, they didn't leave him an invitation. I now send them back in an unstamped envelope so that they have to pay the postage!!

Why cant the JW's see the need to hand this stuff over to the police first, then handle it when they are finished?

Holding hands during prayer.

i remember with some jw family's during prayer every one would hold hands around the table.

i think it is like a cult or some pagan practice.

now that i am out of the box looking in, i find this practice weird.

In the mid seventies we were in a small country cong and it was almost mandatory that people in the same row hold hands...you were almost viewed as an apostate if you didn't... my brother used to hate having to hold my hand or my fathers!!!

Lame... like it made you more holy than others.
