I think what was really getting to me was.. have you ever seen a video of a brutal cult meeting, like say the Moonies or the Branch Davidian video statement? It was starting to feel that way for me at the Kingdom Hall. Just as freaky. Everything about everything in the hall felt really foreign and strange somehow, even though I'd been a witness my whole life.

Man if I were at that meeting I seriously would have calmly walked to the back of the hall, grabbed a field service report slip, wrote a disassociation letter on the back and handed it to the speaker. This would be breaching new unexplored lands of idiocy even for the Watchtower.

i just saw a documentary called "the corporation".
very disturbing.. one premise put forth likened our reality to those who first experimented with flying.
they formed contraptions with wings and jumped off cliffs.
I'm a very optomistic guy. The way I look at things is we can only live our lives based on evidence and logic. The things out of my control I simply don't worry about. I try to contribute in a constructive way to society and let the future sort itself out.

i have come to the realization that i have very poor to non-existent social skills.
i have become so scared of rejection ( i wonder why?
) that i only let people get so close and only reveal select personal information after literally years of knowing someone.sometimes when i'm out in public and see someone i know, if they haven't seen me yet i will try and avoid them.

an old witness friend of mine had a serious drinking problem and went to an elder in his hall for some help.
the elder tried to console him and told him that he could understand what he was going through.
he said "i have an addiction too you know - chocolate cake.
Thanks for the replies. What was even more disturbing was that he was directly DISCOURAGED from attending an AA group by another elder because it would lead him "out of the truth". F*cking idiots.
