The GB members fate after they die
by greendawn inthe gb members believe that they are an "elite of the elite" class (the cream of the cream as it were, the best of the faithful remanent)that after death they will go to heaven with an immortal spiritual body where they will be granted to enter heavenly jerusalem and rule with christ for 1000 years in unimaginable glory.
i believe that they are being far too optimistic and that something very different awaits them in the future.
if you had the opportunity to object to them receiving such a lofty status what would you have to say to justify this position, and what do you propose they really deserve to receive?

What did shunning do to you?
by hillary_step inthere can be little doubt that the wts 'shunning' policy is a dangerous weapon.
each year tens of thousands of people are disfellowshipped, and experience the reality of being shunned.
many of them still believing the wts doctrine that if they die in this condition they will shortly be executed by god at har-meggedon and die an eternal and disgraceful death some leaving the faith altogether.

One of the biggest reason's I DA'ed from the Witnesses is because of the shunning policy, and the effect I saw it have on people who were DF'ed. It's hard to imagine a more blatently un-Christian practice of a supposed "Christian" religion.
I got a phone call from a girl once explaining how she had been shunned by her mom in public after not having seen her for over a year. Also that she had been completely shunned by her old best friend in a supermarket after trying to say hi. The girl was a blathering mess. It would break your heart.
Personally I don't really know what phychological effect it's having on me. Sometimes when I'm in public I wonder what it would be like if I run into some old witness friends. I find myself doing it a lot so I guess that's a negetive effect in itself. Like Satunus eluded to, it makes you realize that your old witness friendships are all completely conditional on believing what they tell you to believe.

A group of us guys were standing around in a little group and one of the single sisters in our congregation came up in discussion. The guys didn't find her physically attractive and one of them (an elder) pipe's up with "Maybe Jehovah will give her a new face in the New System".. and he was serious.

by prophecor inwomen, you seem to always be able to admit that you can spot an attractive woman and be ok with it.
no need of having any fear of homosexual tendencies, not that there's anything wrong with it...but guys, will you ever admit that you can look at another man and know that he's attractive and good looking, with no fear within your inner being that you may be gay?.
i was in converse with my wife and mentioned to her how attracted men are to other women.

I can tell if a guy is good looking. It's not a big deal at all. I used to get flak from some of my old hopeless redneck f*ck-face dub "friends" when I would complement guys on the way they dress, look build-wise ect.. I'm straight too and I think some witlesses thought I had "tendencies" because of some of my comments, lol. Whatever.

Excellent question. By the looks of things all of these guys will still be kicking around. They seem to have extrodinary vitality, like the cannibal's from the movie "Ravenous".
Obviously most likely to still be around will be Stephen Lett.

Anyone ever debated with Ray Franz re. EVOLUTION?

just wondering if he has ever been open to discussing creation vs. evolution.
he has an essay on his website but i don't really think his arguments are sound at all.. anyone here ever chatted with him about it?

Yeah, I really like him too. I've been chatting with him via email for almost a year now. The first email I wrote him was a frenetic mess of pre-disassociation confusion.. I even jokingly called him the "megatron of apostates", not realizing he doesn't really have a sense of humor. He still wrote back a huge email. You gotta love a guy like that.
