I don't really miss them at all. The term 'JW Friend' is an oxy moron IMO. I was inactive for a while before I DA'ed and some guy I thought was a good friend would always be calling me up to do things, like a normal real friend would. I found out later from another guy that we both knew that he was counting time whenever we hung out. What a group of insincere morons.

Guarding the platform at assemblies and conventions
by bronzefist incan anyone tell me why this practice was stopped.
i was told the reason for the guards was to prevent apostates from "attacking" anyone up there and disrupting the program.

There was a bomb scare at a district convention here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada a couple of years back. It was all about the whole Betheny Hughes blood issue. I was a witness at the time and was really pissed at the guys who did it because the older ones in wheelchairs and such were very scared. When we all got back into the building the speaker said some crap about us 'setting a record or something for the fastest evacuation, we'll probably be on the local news!'. One guy was so freaked out he stood up and sang along to some instrumental track with tears running down his face.

Why would you want to kill the org?
by what_Truth? ini know that there's a lot of people here who have been deeply hurt by the jehovah's witnesses (i have as well).
i also know that the gb are a bunch of lying bastards.
still i have also met a lot of people who have made their lives much better by becoming jehovah's witnesses.

Should we tell my sister in law she can appeal her DF'ing?
by AlmostAtheist ingina's sister and her husband haven't been df'd yet, contrary to what we were told.
she will be announced this thursday.. she's not aware of the "organization" side of the organization, gina and i both feel she is unaware of her right to appeal.
if we tell her, and she appeals, i think she stands a decent chance of having it overturned.
