  Name ways in which the Watchtower could make JW life more "appealing"?

  jw meetings are so dull, and so alike, that one can only become bored in no time.

  what changes would you have made in the meetings or after the meetings to make jw life more appealing and still christian?

  I'd say Crisis of Conscience, but by the sounds of your mom she would probably have a heart attack at just the suggestion.

  I'm in kind of a similar situation with my dad. He will still talk to me even though I disassociated, but I can tell that things are different between us. Id love for him to really delve into what he supposedly believes but I can't see it ever happening. He just isnt going to learn any new tricks at this stage in his life. He's been a part of a few other Christian churches before he got involved with the witnesses so playing the Christian card with him isnt going to work. Trying to convince him that evolution is more than just a theory is just going to make him lose what little hope he has left. I just think its better for me to not even talk about it with him just for his own mental health, unless he asks.

  GREAT TO BE FREE

  dear all,.

  it's a little over a year now (2 years last february) that my family and i left watchtower and i can't begin to tell you how wonderful life has been!.

  ok, i'm saddled with a serious illness at present and enough has been said about it, but i'd just like to focus on how much a family can really grow once it has been freed from watchtower's yoke.

  i just got my hands on a copy of my book of bible stories ... (1978).

  at first i was excited when a friend pulled it out of his bag, said he'd gotten it as a kid.

  then i started flipping through, looking at the pictures, feeling the memories spin in my brain.

  i believe its effed up my life.

  no sports, no extracurricular activities, small amount of friends, and im like totally innocent compared to my friends i have now.
