:I really couldn't care less about their game. My goal was to make an impact on people, to make a vote.
Me too SNG. That's exactly why I did it and I'm proud of it.

by pennycandy inas a jw, when i'd find out someone got disfellowshipped, i'd shake my head and think, "what a selfish person.
choosing immorality (it had to be immorality) over jehovah.

:She was an older woman. Then, all of a sudden, I couldn't speak to her anymore, but she would still say HI to me. I felt so embarrassed to not say anything! I remember telling my mom "Well, Daddy (non-JW) smokes, and I can talk to him."
What a horrible religion. What did we do for so many years? How could we treat people this way. I don't know how we could get involved with this stuff and treat people like this - what the hell were my parents thinking to get wrapped up in this shit??
You could be a crack whore distributing blow jobs at a football game and get disfellowshipped but as long as you BELIEVE then its all good.. but to DISASSOCIATE dear GOD you must have lost your mind and are now a Satanic piece of garbage!
I just hope the tide turns one day and that I can live to see it.

I couldn't understand DA'ing either, don't feel bad. Its a part of the mentality. I viewed people who were disfellowshiped as weak, people who disassociated as either nuts or evil. I never would have thought that I would disassociate one day, but I did.

Are There Current JWs Who If They Became XJW's, You Still Wouldn't Trust?
by xjw_b12 in.
i was noticing, how the great majority who are fading, or are df or da, and post here, seem to go through a sincere personality change for the better.. it is of course a very humbling experience to find out how wrong and judgemental we were.. but is there a witness or two, who even if they posted here, you wouldn't trust them or like them.?

There are tons of people in the org that I wouldnt trust even if they left it. If it werent for me wanting that organization to fall apart because it hurts some good people who are still in, I would want them to remain JW's. They deserve it.

YESTERDAY'S WT STUDY
by Mary inoh lordy, at yesterday's botchtower study, paragraph 17 (i think) asked what we personally found "encouraging" about the 2004 stats that are listed by country in the wt.
anyway, someone finally put up their hand and remarked about how wonderful it was to see that ethiopia had a 5% increase......ya, i guess if you're starving to death, who wouldn't want to hear that paradise is right around the corner.
one bro put up his hand and actually mentioned the fact that there was 0% increase in virtually all the industrialized nations, but that we "shouldn't let that discourage us".

:Maybe you have another closet apostate in your congregation.
I've heard comments like this from diehard elders and stuff too though. I once heard from an elder that 'children can grasp concepts in the Bible better than some adults can because they think about things simply and do not critically analyze material the way some adults do.' I was looking around the hall like I was in the f**king twilight zone!!

Cruel Joke by Circuit Overseer
by diamondblue1974 ini was reading the thread about the prospect of the wts releasing some new light shite about a prophecy to fulfil the fact that they are not growing and it brought back a really horrid memory, unintentional i know but horrid nonetheless.. the co visited the congregation were i was from and after the obligatory song and prayer, it was announced that the co needed to speak to us urgently on a local needs issue.
he came onto the platform his look was sombre and melancholy (nothing new there then).
he said he had an announcement from the governing body and that their had been a law passed that day which banned jw's in the uk that the usa and other world governments had notified the wts that they were to follow suit shortly.

:personally i felt like we had been mentally abused and played like a group of fools
What a f**king jackass.
I remember a talk that a district overseer gave once at a circuit assembly regarding moral cleanness. He said that if a person had slept around with people before they were married and in the "truth" then the chances of them cheating on their spouse was very high. I couldnt believe my ears. Its like they have accepted that there arent even any studies in the audience that could be offended by such a retarded comment. This guy was a freaking district overseer.. surreal stupidity.

:someone did make the comment that perhaps the reason only the third world countries are experiencing growth is because "they are simple people" and they "don't question things as much as those that live where knowledge is abundant".
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! What in the hell was that commenter thinking?? I heard a comment like that from somebody before I left too - I burst out laughing my ass off right there in the Kingdom Hall! That is the most braindead shit I have ever heard.

Did anybody ever predict the end of the world for way off in the future?
by AlmostAtheist inthe guy that shot 11 people, killing 7, in a church in wisconsin was apparently upset over a sermon he'd heard.
the sermon may not have been about the end of the world, but the church he attended taught that it was coming, and coincidentally, it was coming "soon".
