i have to confess that i was a bit afraid to even touch any new jw publications for so long.
i know it sounds so silly but i was afraid if i read something in them, i might get brainwashed again.
it was hard for me to admit that i was so brainwashed as one of jw's.
LyinEyes, I get what you are saying. It is some really freaky stuff. Have you read a lot of material on the JW's though, like have you completely deprogrammed yourself? I found that after I took the time to patiently and thoroughly understand how the dubs are wrong about everything.. thier books and magazines are just morbidly facinating in an even funny sort of way now.

i'm the only one of my family who is not in 'the truth', and my family don't want anything to do with me.. however, today my mum asked me if she can take my 2 year old to visit the rest of the family, i'm not invited and wouldn't be welcome at any of their houses, so she would be taking my daughter alone.. i told her i would think about it.. i really don't think it would be practical because my daughter is not familiar with the family and i don't want her to be upset.. but the main reason |'m thinking of saying no is that i feel offended that i am not good enough for them to speak to.. am i being selfish if i say no?
All a little kid needs are a few sessions of the Bible story book to start seeing the world as an evil place with demons flying around infecting brains.. and one got into mommy too! Before you know it, you are the evil Jezebel of the Bible deserving to be eaten alive after being thrown from a window.
That book is evil and subjecting it to children in a literal way is nothing short of child abuse. But try explaining that to a dub.

well, having attended the book study this week, we started the first few chapters in the new brochure, "keep on the watch" .
and, as predicted by myself, the brother taking the study blames the catholic church for all the sexual abuse.
another classic example of the ostrich mentality.
When I was in the org I would drop hints that the dubs were messed up to everyone, but form it in a way so as to seem like I didn't really know what I was talking about. I would say things like " I saw a part of the Fifth Estate last night that was on witnesses sexually abusing kids and getting off with it, or something.." The response I got back was "The Fifth Estate has always trashed witnesses." This was considered a fine rebuttle by the rest of the witnesses standing around. Idiots.

well my dream last night was rather intersting.
dreamt i went back to the kingdom hall and everyone had access codes & these computerised dog collars on (neon lights and all) my code had expired & i never recieved a dog collar.
so i go off to the reception desk & there's this very prim & proper witness lady with her flashing dog collar ticking away at her pee cee.
Sounds like you might be a little scared of being labeled an apostate, subconsciously anyway. If its any consolation those crazy dub dreams and armageddon nightmare scenarios dissipate after awhile.

Hey Dustin, sorry you are going through this bro. When I DA'ed my parents said they would still talk to me, but lately I've noticed that things are just different with my dad and me. The cult just keeps on taking and taking. The only way to get around it I think is to act as normally around them as you ever were, when you do see em again. It effing sucks. Sorry to hear that man.

so many verses in the bible are so clear.
example: don't steal, don't fornicate, don't have sex with a person of the same sex....etc.
some verses couldn't be clearer.
I pat myself on the back and remind myself that the activity is something that Jesus would probabaly NOT do.
