my friend told me today that she had passed on to her friend my story bout being a jw and how now i dont have any support since leaving the borg mainly coz im marrying a "worldy" person and how my parents dont really have alot to do with me now.

anyway jw's came to this ladies door this week and she plainly stated that she is not interested but they kept hounding and so she said im not interested in a religion that can shun family members for not marrying in your religion, or not believing in the same thing, thats not what a loving god does.

so these jw said "oh you must have the wrong religion we dont do those things"!!!

It's the old "JW Shuffle"! I've been with people who have blatently lied to householders when cornered on the blood issue, false prophecies and especially shunning. Can you imagine the internal turmoil of having to lie to defend your religious organization but having to think you are following the example of Jesus the best you can? What a mind f*ck!

I just used to say, " So you aren't interested then?"

i thought i'd share my experience.

for those of you not familiar with some stores here in the usa, bj's is a wholesale chain very similar to walmart's sam's club.

it's a discount warehouse.

I know some dubs that are in the same situation as this poor man. It's pretty sad. Gotta feel bad for the older one's that have loyally wasted countless hours serving the WTBTS. A lot of them are looking really scared and freaky these days. There is a look of desperation in their eyes.

I'm not bitter at all. I find it fun to joke about them though. I do find I have to emotionally detach myself from some issues in order to just move on with my life.

Let's just put it this way Ang - if you date this guy on the sly and get baptized (because you'll HAVE to), you will have to accept that 10 men in Brooklyn right now are speaking for God, and agree with everything that they say or get disfellowshipped (shunned). They have never been right about anything ever. They have caused heartache and misery to thousands. Their mandates have killed thousands of people, including children. Their teachings are not even Biblical. You can do a ton of research on the cult now, but if you don't really feel like it.. take our words for it and run the f*ck away from this guy and find a nice normal dude.
