College Station was a lot better. You were lucky, I got there just before 9:00 the first day and I had to walk 15, 20 minutes through the damn weeds and got to enjoy the fertilizer being spread on the practice field as I walked by. The Parking poeple were grossly incompetent, the Attendents were a complete joke. All in all it was about the worst managed DC I've ever attended.
I understand the problem in College Station was they couldn't come to terms with the hotels. The University was fine and had a great relationship going with the Witnesses.
Couple of observations. I've never seen so many people talking on or otherwise messing with their cell phones during the sessions, and I've never seen so many people not applauding or doing a very desultory job of it.

"At Heb 12 Paul was concerned the congregation would get tired over the passing years and not be at all of their meetings."
My question is how many meetings did they have? You'd think if it was such a burning issue with Paul he'd have given some details. Like the COs, "not one, not two, not three, not four meetings brothers, but five meetings a week" routine -

I understand even some GB members think Revelation Climax is nonsense. It's odd they'd go through the utter silliness of most of it again.

Were you allowed to take sex education in school, when raised a JW?
by free2beme inwhen i was in my freshman year, they had us take a half semester of sex education and another one was drivers education.
the sex education class taught good stuff for a young teen to know, especially if they were in families who were kind of lax about teaching what needed to be know.
as an example, one girl in our class actually asked if you could get pregnant the first time and another asked if the pulling out method was as good as a condom.

Thanks Blondie and Blues. I understand it now. For a minute I thought they had changed the sheep and goats thing from 95 and I missed it.

"The WTS taught for many years that this judging had already been going on. In 1995, the changed that and said that the judging would not take place until Christ came at the beginning of the great tribulation but then after so many complaints from the rank and file the adjusted it in 1997."
Blondie, can you tell me where to find the adjustment?
Thanks, Fang -

An intriging tale of corruption in the congregation {Mark Heber Miller}
by sf inhttp://www.nazarene-friends.org/pubs/confessions/000.htm
i haven't read marks story in a while and was looking for the part where he states ted jaracz went out in field service with him and a few other brothers back in the 70's, in newport beach/ balboa island, for another thread here.. if you grew up in southern california as a jw, you might find it a very intriging tale of just how the elite congs were being run.
i know for myself it is like trying to fit pieces of a puzzle.

It's an interesting story and I'll admit that it seems somewhat over the top. I have checked on a couple of things and they were as he said. I also e-mailed him a few times to discuss events and people, and again, he had the right answers. Certainly not a complete verification but I felt a little more credible after going through that exercise.

Guantanamo Bay Suicides - a PR Move
by eyeslice inquote from bbc website .
a top us official has described the suicides of three detainees at the us base at guantanamo bay, cuba, as a "good pr move to draw attention".
colleen graffy told the bbc the deaths were part of a strategy and "a tactic to further the jihadi cause", but taking their own lives was unnecessary.

I guess the word allegation is meaningless to you Robdar. None of this stuff has been supported.
While I'm sure you're used to having your ass kissed and it's probably the only point of emotional contact for a pathetic terrorist bum boy schmuck like you, I'll pass.
Neocon, neocon, you're really hung up on that. I guess you're an anti-semite aren't you, that's the code word isn't it. No wonder you're a terrorist ass licker. -

baptized roommate talked to elders about Barbara Anderson
by oppgirl63 inmy roommate(baptized) met with 2 elders last night and gave them "the discoveries of barbara anderson".
she told them that she believed mrs. anderson was telling the truth.
she didn't think that mrs. anderson would have given so many years of service to jehovah and then just walk away.

Does anyone remember one of these things a week after it has been passed? Completely wasted effort by guys that don't live in the real world.
