I can certainly relate to this thread. I have had to put a few pets down myself and I know how hard it is. Gumby is right though, another one will heal the heart quickly. I have a cat that is 14 and I know that one day soon enough it is going to happen again and I hate it because I grow very fond of my pets. They are like your children and you know I think our pets grow very fond of their owners, especially if you show them love and affection on a regular basis. I think pets also hate their owners if the owner is abusive too. But I sure thank God for my litttle four legged creatures...Sorry Mulan about your dog...(hug and a kiss)

Witness kids having online discussion

i ran across this discussion for a kids forum.

And we certainly don't all read from the same bible either. In myu church you may see several different types of bibles being used.

For the most part of it, it is just teenage chitter chatter. but what hit me the hardest is that they think the baptist mis-translated the bible ? I am a baptist and I never heard of the church having their own bible that they had translated. They are talking about their own translation of the bible and don't even know it.

Evolution or creation.....

i know what i was taught from the witnesses in the book evolution or creation,but is this an accurate portrayal of what evolutionists believe?

is it really that black or white?

evolution, meaning that god didn't have a plan, things just happened, or creation,god created adam, the first man?

Wait a sec here. Don't you think that if we evolved that we would still be evolving ? Do people actually think that we evolved and then just stopped evolving ? C'mon I cannot possibly buy that theory. If anything evolved it would still be evolving. And then how do we explain all the plants , trees, animals, etc.... Are these things still evolving ? NO they are not ! Scientist believe in evolution but then I guess if they didn't there would be no need for scientist and no need to waste all those tax dollars in trying to disprove creation. I look at all the wonderful creations God made for us here to enjoy and I just can't see evolution but beautiful creations in everything on this planet.

Thats my theory and I'm stickin to it

Is disfellowshipping bad?

it seems that some people are keen to use disfellowshipping as the measure of anything bad.

if someone is deleted from a forum for being obnoxious then that is akin to being disfellowshipped and is b-a-d. yada yada yada.. is it?.

is every disfellowshipping "bad" simply by virtue of being a disfellowshipping?.

I don't think that you can compare being removed from a discussion board to be disfellowshipped in the borg. There are rules and laws we have to conform too and if we break them we pay for them one way or another. I personally do not come to this board to be beaten down or to be insulted.

Now if we are talking about others who should be disfellowshipped in the borg, then yes I know many who should be disfellowshipped from the borg but yet seem to be able to get away with practically murder. Like my mother for instance. My mother should of been def'd a long time ago for many reasons, but I honestly think that she has not been def'd because her actions are against those not in the society. If her actions had been against those inside her society she would of definantly would have been removed.

As far as this board goes, if a poster is out of order and many have been even at one time I had been out of order here, got carried away with others comments, then there should be some kind of punishment for that. After all we all came from a very evil religion that is full of bitterness towards people and none of us want to feel like we stepped out from the borg and into a JWD borg. So it is utterly important that we treat others here with a genuine kindness and respect in order for those who are new here do not come to JWD and leave with an attitude that this place is no different than what they just come from.

Witnesses.....will they REALLY be any different in the New System?

in talking to a fellow ex-dub buddy of mine the other day, it occured to me that in many ways....witnesses could be living the life they expect to live in the new system.......but they don't.. in the publications we see picture after picture of smiling brothers helping each other frame each others new houses ....for free.

we also never see in the publications poor african people walking through aligator/ piranna infested swamps to get to a kingdom hall either in the new system.. .

the fact is......brothers hire brothers in this system to help build their new homes and are taught not to expect free labor, but to pay them as you would the next guy.. with regards to the poor africans.....and others...., the jehovahs witness organisation has enough money to see that fellow believers in poorer countries should not go hungry or be without a meeting place to worship in.
