Auldsoul,
I hear you there, I read that thread and did not post to it. Although I can understand some of what the person was saying because they have not had the knowledge we have had and made their reply according to what they believe and know about their faith. I do feel very sorry for that individual...

Life sucks and then you die
by troucul inkidnappings, torture, rape-all in a day's work for the local insurgent.
and for the most part, one can do nothing.
the two witness rule laughs in your face as these things happen.

I think life is what we make it to be, and as far as insurgents and religion goes ? Well I don't know where the idea came from but it is not the Koran because of what I know about the Koran it does not teach to kill innocent people. These are radicals who simply hate Americans and it has nothing to do with religion.

I always thought an apostate was someone who left God and not a religion....And that is a label I am not one of.

Sometimes I just shake my head
by Lady Lee ini just went through the topic that leftbehind started.
i'm almost relieved he didn't come back to read the tongue lashing so many of you posted.. a person comes here and believes all the apostate crap that we used to believe.
his brother has left the jws.

Lady Lee,
I totally agree with you. I read that thread and was so disgusted with the cold bitter words from many of those that did post that I did not want to post to it. I figured it was not me to be the way others were. God only knows I too have had times where I had been attaced here at JWD and it did not make me pleased and I almost had decided to not come here any more. But damn I learn so much here and I only hope that this person does come back and does read some of the societies incorrect doctrines.
I always thought that was why we were here was to teach others about the lies of the WTBS and one thing we all needed when we came out of the borg was compassion. I find it hard to understand how people who were once kind and loving can now be so bitter and cold ? I don't think that it came from the society but rather within as I believe the mean and bitterness is a personality issue and not a religious one.

Hell, Forgivness, and Redemption
by gumby inmany christians today believe in a literal place of torment/torture which will be the eternal abiding place of the ungodly/wicked/non-believer.. here's my questions.
lets say a person ends up in hell and is tortured for 500 years.
this person has been in a no let up agony state continually.

Did not Jesus tell the diciples after he had risen that he had gone to Gehenna to get those who died previously to his death that were worthy ? Maybe he was warning them that if they did not straighten up that , that might be where they would go if they had died previously to Christ death ?
Those are great questions but I think Christ had a reason for everything he said and did. Jesus had away of speaking one way but sometimes it meant another as he spoke in parables so often. We either except the sacrafice made by Christ and gain one thing or deny and recieve another. I think it all boils down to faith and I also think that when you are faithful to the Lord he blesses you with things like discernment.

I was thinking back after reading these post and as I think about it when I was studing with the elder I never heard anything about how if you screw up you were kicked out and shunned. But my Youngest sister was disfellowshipped and I knew they did do that and the shunning. But I don't remember it affecting my thoughts or beliefs even though I knew that it as possible to be treated the same aas my sister was.
To tell you all the truth, it was gumby that got me thinking about the lies and deceit and then I read COC by R. Franz and that was it for me. This board here help a great deal in my escape from the society too. Boy I just thank God I did not go as far as I could have and been baptised because I know now I would of for a fact been disfellowshipped by now and shunned worse than I am.

Where the Heck does Jesus say to treat people as DEAD??
by ChrisVance inthis is what someone asked on the leftbehind thread.
i'm not a believer and i never read the bible anymore, but didn't jc supposedly say: "let the dead bury the dead?
" couldn't that be interpreteded to mean that xtians should treat certain people as dead?.

Nowhere in the scriptures does it say to treat the living as if they were dead. Jesus taught us to love one another as we love ourselves, which is just the opposite of treating them as if they were dead. Although I have been told by my dub family that they will figure me as dead, and I returned the reply "OK"
