In one month, I drove twice back and forth from New York City to Colorado Springs, two weeks later.. from New York City to Las Vegas and back. The next month I drove from Upstate NY to Utah, then from Utah to Toronto and from Toronto to Boston. Four months later I drove from Upstae NY to Florida, then from Florida to New Jersey. Over the years, I made a total of 8 trips across the US. But my "longest" road trip was when I walked from New York City to Las Vegas in 1992. It took 10 months to get there.

Yes. I am in the notheast as well (Adirondack mountains). What do you mean "it stopped raining"???? This is day number 14 here and still counting. It is very depressing. I took a year off from work, starting almost two weeks ago, and I have not seen a single day without rain. I've been in the house most of the time, and I'm almost thinking about going back to work. This rain is pathetic. One of the factors which played a role in my decision to move to this area was that several people had told me that it almost never rains more than 4 days in a row up here. However, they failed to tell me about the two seasons this area has, July and wintertime. I am sick, sick, sick, sick of this rain, I really am. I check the weather on line like 6 times a day to see if they have changed their mind, but they are still showing rain until at least Tuesday, then 2 days with "chance of rain" and then rain again as far as they can tell. GGGGGRRRRRRR, one can only clean so much in the house.

Oh, thank goodness. I was all worried and looked it up real quick. Tomatoes are good in cancer prevention.

I never heard of drinking causing cancer of the throat (tonsils)in any way.
My neighbor is currently dying of throat cancer. He does not have much time left. When he was first diagnosed with this, I researched the whole thing, thinking that perhaps I could help somehow. It seems that heavy drinking could be one of the main causes of cancer in the area of the throat. I read in several articles that for certain types of cancer, alcohol might be more dangerous than smokes. My neighbor is a heavy drinker as well.
As for your comment about tomatoes.. please don't say that. I thought it was the opposite, I thought that eating tomatoes on a daily basis is a good way to prevent cancer. For that very reason, I eat tomatoes every day of my life and have done that for several years now.

What would you put in Room 101?
by PaulJ infor those of you that do not know what this is- room 101 is a place where you can bannish forever all the things that really annoy you.
the only requisite is that you have to justify why you want to put that 'thing' in room 101.
(if anyone can explain it better, please go ahead!).

I want to put the rain in room 101, and only let it out at night. It has been raining for 10 days straight now, and I am completely sick of it. Speaking of which, I am on sick leave until the end of October, and I can't go outside because it's raining cats and dogs all the time. Starting to develop a case of cabin fever here..

Hi es,
Don't worry, it's going to be all right, trust me. I was in the catering business for a few years and catered about 3 weddings a week. I dealth with many brides and grooms-to-be, and reading your words here immediately reminded me of that time. What should be a wonderful experience (preparing for the wedding), very often turns into a path, littered with stress and anxiety.
One of my bridesmaids (my best friend) has kinda just turned this round to her day.
Indeed, it is your day and nobody else's. But that doesn't efface the fact that the people in your wedding party also look forward to being dressed up and look good. It is normal for them to talk about their excitment. If it really bothers you a lot, perhaps you can talk about it to her? Tell her how you feel. Perhaps she doesn't realize that her excitment hurts your feelings.
Everyone seems happy to sit back and have everything done for them and none of them have offered to help,
Are you having a formal wedding? If so, this is quite normal behavior. People often don't have a clue as how much work goes into the preparation and the realization of a wedding. I bet if you asked for help, they would be happy to, but don't expect them to offer, because they probably think that everything is under control and that their help is not needed.
The most important thing is to stay calm and take a step back here and there. Relax and trust that everything will work out just fine. I have never seen a bride who was not nervous, just don't let your nerves overtake and spoil the moment.
If you are worried about the pictures, buy some cheap cameras (the ones you only use once and then throw away). Put them on the tables, this is done often at wedings. That way, there will be plenty of pictures and the guests won't bug the professional photographer too much if you have one. It really helps.

Of course you can. I kept all my notes and will be happy to share. It got to be very frustrating in the end, and you are right, it does eat up a lot of time.
If you like, you can pm me with questions, or you can also do it here, I bookmarked this thread and will check every once in a while to see if you have posted.
Towards the end, the game gets VERY tricky. Some things I would never have been able to figure out if I hadn't had some hints from other people.
Sigh, I just hit two dead ends in mazito1, some things just never change.
