  What are some weird things that you do?

  everyone has their own idiosyncrises, mine is- .

  when i get a new book, i'll open it up to the middle of the book and stick my nose in the binding for about ten seconds, and smell how the glue, ink, and fresh paper smell.

  ahhhh i love that smell.

  This has been mentioned before in this thread.. even numbers. Everything has to be even, preferably 12. My alarm clock is set for 12 minutes past 7. When I plant seeds, I cover them with soil after every 12 seeds. When I slam a nail into something, I assure you that the hammer will have hit the nail 12 times. If the nail gos in sooner, I keep hitting. When I move rocks from one garden to the other, I will have 12 rocks in the wheelbarrow. A matchbook with 12 matches is a keeper.. it's pretty pathetic actually.

  I've never had even a single sip of coffee in my entire life.

  I smile ALL the time, and people have told me often that this is kind of weird. I smile even when I am sad or mad.

  Did you know that it is wrong to play Chess?

  i remember being at a bookstudy one tuesday night.

  i had just recently been reinstated, and i was trying hard to believe the stuff the wbts was teaching, as i went back to be reunited with my family.

  (this did not mean i had all the doctrinal beliefs straightened out so that i was an "automatic believer" just because of being reinstated.).

  Yes I remember this over chess. But I also recall that the view changed over time and chess became acceptable again. Think they realised that some other board games can be just as competitive.

  Ah, that explains it. I played chess in competition for quite some years. About 8 months ago, one of the elders at the KH asked me if I would teach his kid how to play chess. I was always confused when I read that chess was not allowed, and here I was teaching an elder's kid how to play this game.

  how many here still believed the "witnesses" to have the truth until they came to sites like this?

  how many actually came here to defend the jw's and ended up leaving?

  Who left the JW's after getting on the internet?

  I did. I accidentally stumbled upon the silent lambs site about 6 months before I found JWD. Back then, after spending a whole night reading through that site, I still thought that perhaps it was just all talk to make the JWs look bad. Six months later, I read a poem at a poetry site. Nobody probably knew which religion the poem was really about, but it contained some typical JW lingo, so I knew... The poem was obviously written by someone who had a bad experience with the JWs. Concerned, as well as interested in what happened, I sent the author of the poem a pm. She replied and included a link to JWD in her reply. That was the beginning of the end for me.

  If you have an ACCENT how are you treated?

  i have lived in mexico for almost two years.

  i have always been fascinated by languages so when i retired from the state of washington at age 50 and had the opportunity so go to college i majored in spanish.

  i didn't go to college when i was young for the usual dub reason.

  Well, due to lots of traveling and moving around, I speak several languages, but not one without an accent, not even my native tongues. No matter where I am, no matter which language I speak, I always have an accent. I can't tell you how sick I am of people pointing out my accent. My day job is at a store, and at least 10 times a day, a customer asks where I'm from. It is my experience that it is not the accent perse which makes people treat you differently, it is rather the fact that you're "a stranger" and not a local. And that will never change. Trust me, I know.

  She keeps making eyes at me but I'm not interested. :S

  at work there is this girl there who keeps making eyes at me, but i'm not interested.

  on top of that, she keeps trying to strike up conversations and she goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on... its amazing!

  never a pause between sentences and barely a any space between words... just a very very long series of words coming out of her mouth non-stop.

  Oh no, and I thought that going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on without taking a breath really impressed a guy. I'm finally finding out why I'm single. Thanks elsewhere, I'm never saying a word again. All I will do form now on is wink.

  No, serious.. I'd be honest and tell her you're not interested. Not that you don't enjoy her conversations, you are just not ready for a relationship right now, ya know what I mean?

  i am a person who is a little pack rat, and i must admitt i have some cool collections, such as a my 1920 royal doulton minature toby's and waterford crystal wine glassses.

  i have alot of pottery and earthenware that i also enjoy.

  I collect the little paper tags that are attached to tea bags. I started doing this when I was 14 and have well over 2,000 now from all over the world. They are stored in photo albums. I've been looking for years to find someone who collects the same thing, but I haven't found a soul so far. If anyone out there likes to drink tea, please save your tags for me. I don't have any tags from the Australian continent, believe it or not. So, Australians, please help!!
