That just stinks! I know no words can make it better for you, but know that we all have "righteous indignation" over this. I swear the dubs have ice-water in their veins.

I now know what it feels like.
by Es inhey all i used to read posts where people have found out they have lost loved ones and were never told about it nor the funeral.
last week my mum called me up and said "by the way sister such and such passed away last week the memorial was yesterday"!!!!
i used to be close to this sister and for those from australia might even had known her or heard of her sister isabelle sewell married to ted sewell, they have been living in bethel for over 10 years now.

Learning surprising things about the jws
by greendawn inafter you left the jws and entered your post wts era what sort of things did you learn about them that you found surprising?
there are some recent jws that haven't even heard of russell or even rutherford let alone of their objectionable conduct especially that of rutherford.
or they don't know anything about malawi and mexico, the ray franz incident and the witchhunt of the early 80's, or the organ transplant ban.

rebel, I should have clarified that it only took me a few weeks after coming to this site and reading Ray Franz. For the 3 years previous, I felt the problem was with me, and the elders played a big part in that. I honestly felt that I had failed in life because I couldn't reconcile what I felt to what the elder's were telling me about child molestation. It was a horrible period.
After finding out that my own gut feelings were justified, I had incredible white-hot anger. It has not dissipated, just cooled down so that I can think clearly about how to expose the WTBS. Like I told the elders, if I don't say anything or pretend there aren't child molesters, then I am just as guilty as the actual perpetrator for enabling those people.

I had never heard of Ray Franz, either, so I ordered his books immediately. That was the absolute end for both my husband and I. The deprogramming was complete.

I didn't know anything about the U.N., Mexico/Malawi, Rand Cam, Beth Sarim, the new ideas about blood factions-heck, I was just wide-eyed and stunned when I first began reading here. It took me only a few weeks to realize that I wasn't the failure, but the WTBS.

Can you control your dreams?
by ButtLight infor years and years i have been able to wake up in the middle of a dream, and go back to it right where i left off.
if its a good one, that i didnt want to leave, i think about it, fall back asleep, and im back in!
or, like the other night, i was mad at my bf in my dream.

I wish I could, but sadly, no. Never could. My son, on the other hand, tells me just what order his dreams are going to be in. He actually plans his dreams! I just stared at him in amazement.

Did it ever bother you that Watchtower never did charitible works?
by AK - Jeff ini mean, for forty years believing the witness lie it always made me wonder.. judas was the keeper of the money box - and there are statements that indicated that the apostles thought that wasting money that could be used to aid the poor was sinful - so indications are that the earliest christians were doing charitible works.
of course there are many scriptural passages that encourage that activity among believers.
today all the organization ever does is pay lip service to charity.

Oh boy, did it ever. Finally, the last few years while I was still working, I had United Way donations taken out of my paycheck. I felt much better about things.
And it's a great feeling to buy a poppy or forget-me-not from the vets, too. I hated passing them and trying not to make eye contact when they were selling.

Wifey is now a 'churchgoer'!
by AK - Jeff in.

Wow, good for her!
We are thinking about doing that for our kids, but haven't decided on which church. We are really turned off by organized religion, but I want my kids to have the great memories of youth groups, retreats, etc, that I had when I was a kid. Every time the subject comes up, we decide to wait awhile longer. The wounds are still too raw.

Welcome Lola! I certainly understand your feelings. It does take awhile to get over that "I've been kicked in the stomach" feeling.
You made the right choice.

We just put our first one up last Sunday-the day our JC was meeting. It was a symbolic for us as freedom from the Borg.
It really seemed strange to even contemplate doing it, but once it was up we felt SO good. Between the flag, the No Trespassing sign and the apostate sticker on our mailbox, we have inocculated our house against JW's. (Kind of like wearing garlic and holding a cross against vampires! LOL)
