E Mail from public broadcasting system
by outoftheorg ini just received an e mail from pbs that refers to my e mail to them regarding the up coming display of .
knocking.
the program we feel is to promote the wbts.. in their e mail they state that this program has not been submitted to them or reviewed by pbs.. any one here receive responses like this from pbs??.

Elders have no manners
by Jez inthere i am, saturday morning, 9am, having a coffee with my kids, hair very messy, no make up, pj's on still, and they show up!
why do they never phone first and make an appointment?
i have asked them to do this but they won't comply.

Not only the elders, but the women in the congregation used to do it to me. I worked shift work, had young babies, and asked repeatedly for them to call first. The most that ever happened is that they sat in my driveway calling me on their cell phone when I wouldn't answer the door.
I wasn't raised in the religion, and I never had that problem until I met this particular group of people. They always thought I was being too touchy as I honestly became furious at the intrusion. Hey, either I was sleeping during the day after working all night, or one of the babies had just laid down, and there was hardly any time for making the house "company ready".
Actually, I've often thought this was done on purpose as it seemed to give the JW women a reason to feel superior that their house was perfect. I really could feel the smugness roll off them.
As for asking the elders to call first, I did repeatedly. Never happened. So we put the No Trespassing sign up. I was tired of feeling like a prisoner in my own home.

i gave that un report to my (hardcore jw to the extreme max, but in a nice way) aunt, and she didn't speak of it for several days.
when she said nothing, i knew i'd gotten somewhere.. today she finally spoke up.

It's funny how differently people react. The child abuse thing was HUGE for me, and the UN was icing on the cake-justification that my gut feelings about the Borg were right. My husband hated the child abuse, of course, but when he read the UN evidence their were tears rolling down his face.
My point is that you just never know what will be the item that will make the scales fall from their eyes.

I know there was some doubt as to the authenticity of the above, and I don't know if it was ever sorted out. But I was furious at the time, and sent it anyway. I'm curious if the original scan was ever posted.
