So can apostates attend jw weddings now?

i have been officially gone from the witnesses less than 2 months but i know they are always coming out with new light.

i got a shock today when i was invited to a cousins wedding that will be held in a kh.

i am not invited to the reception.

Uninvited--A Wonderful "Witness"

i attended my mother's memorial at the kingdom hall saturday afternoon.

even with the jw sermon tagged on, my cousin did a lovely service for her.

there were many jws and non-jws in attendence.

Sadly, I have been to funerals where this has happened. One was the daughter of the deceased. It opened my eyes, and it was the last Witnoid funeral I ever attended. I wish I had known then what I know now, because I would definitely have gone up to this woman and stuck to her side, instead of letting her be shunned. But I thought it all was "the truth". I still feel ashamed.

if the elders came and inspected your home - what would they find?.

a casual look around reveals a box of "narnia" tissues on my desk, 12 or 14 non-witness translations of bibles on my shelves, many non approved novels [wifey's] on the reading table, plenty of 'apostate literature', a book or two on meditation, a hypnosis cd for weight loss, prob many toys that are not witness approved in the g-kids room, a half eaten birthday cake, a birthday balloon, xmas wrapping paper in the closet , a couple of r rated movies, music that is not acceptable.. that is just at first blush.

Well, let's see.

The American flag hanging on our house.

The Stop Watchtower Abuse stickers on our mailbox and on our vehicles.

No Trespassing sign.

And that's just on the outside. Guess they'll never see the inside.

keo-I mean no disrespect, but I have personally had the elders tell me that if I warned anyone in the congregation about the molester I would be charged with slander. Then I was marked, then shunned-I'm sure you know the procedure. They made my decision to leave very, very easy intellectually. Emotionally it took longer.

I now proclaim to the entire world the seamy JW underworld-one I had no idea of as a JW until it effected me personally. There is no "both sides" in this particular situation.

Please answer Big Tex. All JW apologists like you owe him at least that much. Strange how your so-called "loving" religion has created an abnormal aversion to true righteousness and in it's place is apathy and callousness towards victims.

The last elder that tried to force that garbage down my throat was told that I have decided to "quit touching the unclean thing", and that was the Watchtower and all those that supported her rotten, stinking policies. I'm glad that any lurkers will get to see the true JW thinking when reading this thread.
