  is it true that americans are the least travelled people in the world?

  if that is the case, its hardly surprising when you read all the dire warnings contained inside a us passport.

  also, i am told that americans regard the rest of the world as a very dangerous place to be.

  I also consider some travel within the US to be analogous to foreign travel within Europe for Europeans. That said, it is not too impressive to live on the East Coast and have been to each state (sometimes just passing through) from Florida to (only recently) Maine. Nor is driving as far as Chicago impressive, as some co-workers here, near Philadelphia, have at times made a weekly commute. But I want points for going to Texas (past marketing slogan: "It's like a whole other country"), California, and Arizona.

  i see in the yearbook 2002 that jw make 3 new movies abauot bloodissu, and they get first price fore one of them in a contest, gold camera award.

  Gold and Silver are not first and second place in this instance. There was no limit to the number of videos that could "win" either prize. The fact that two out of three only got silver, and that after entering in multiple categories in something that was not really a competition or contest, speaks much of the quality of the productions.

  I see from the 2002 Yearbook that the Jehovah's Witnesses have produced three new videos concerning the medical use of blood and blood fractions, as well as substitutes for some fractions and some alternative medical procedures. It appears they were recognized for their production quality in a non-competitive forum. Has anyone seen any of these presentations?

  Extremely old news, you'll have to do a search based on the name of the awards to find the long thread that dealt with it. As I recall the "golden camera" is not first place, as it was given to many of the public relations films that were submitted as a way of saying they were well made. Of course this was not an endorsement of the silly arguments contained therein. This was not a serious documentary competition, nor really a competition at all. Naturally the WTS did not reflect these facts in their reporting.

  interesting: tell me what you guys think about this, and whether it's bs or not.... .

  a new commercial with ed mcmahon, the new department of justice spokesman, is advertising this program on tv.

  he's the pitchman for the neighborhood watch and the civilian defense force in the new so-called "public service" announcements.. the triangular arm badges are red, white, and blue and the words "homeland security" are above and the imperial state eagle design is in the center.

  I don't think their introducing the Hitler Youth - err, Bush Youth? - just yet. But one thing said at the end is quite true:

  If you give the little guy a little sense of power, he's going to run with it; and he's not going to want to give it up; and he's going to do what he's told in order to keep it. That's human nature.

  Most KH's around here have a few paintings, usually of idyllic nature scenes to remind one of the coming paradise. Often there is one in the foyer, seen as soon as one enters from the lobby, and one in the library. Sometimes there are even murals behind the platform.

  One such mural at the Doylestown, PA Kingdom Hall showed rolling meadows with mountains in the background, and a babbling brook - complete with a small chapel, complete with steeple, alongside it. No one noticed the church at first, but it caused quite a fuss and there were supposedly plans to paint over it or otherwise opbscure it. Years after hearing about this, I visited Doylestown and the small church with its cross was still visible.

  has anyone given any thought to the fact that jw's are supposed to be a loving organization and yet they are probably the biggest gossipers around, time and time again there were talks given on not gossiping and how the tongue such a little member can cause huge bush fires, i personally know of many that were stumbled away because of gossip that was untrue, any thoughts on this guys.

  hello just wanted to ask what tv shows do u guys watch?

  we have limited choices over here but now i know where to get tv rips (evil me)..anyways..what are good to consider?

  some shows i'm into are sex and the city, friends, and felicity that's about it..southpark too but dont get to watch now..ahh yah i watched survivor too and fear factor when i get to catch it..
