Bill, do you know who the elder chairing the meeting will be? Any chance it is the pedophile whose appointment you have opposed? That would raise some eyebrows!

So they admit you are denied the right to counsel. Remember this next time they try to defend their star chamber courts as just.

Kitten Burnt on Hot Coals (Serious)
by SYN in.
this is so horrible and unimaginably cruel.
i'm usually a very laid-back, easy-going guy, but if i ever saw people doing something this cruel to a helpless little kitten they would get to find out many painful things about the pointy end of a stick!

As I was reading the article, I tried to put myself in the shoes of the rescuer, and wondered how I might prevent the groups from escaping unidentified, perhaps by shooting a few photos. Just before reading your reply I though that maybe busting a cap in the asses would make it easier for police to i.d. them.

I stopped going to meetings at the end of 2000, but had not been looking for a couple years before that because I didn't want to bring my doubts into a Witness marriage. Prior to that, it seems almost every time I had an eye on a young sister who was apparently spiritual but not yet of age to date, she was already (often secretly) dating a 'marginal' brother, usually several years older. I'm not actively looking right now, but I am glancing.

re: Taking a balanced view of the allegations?
by Visionary Man inthis is my first post on this forum.
i am by all accounts a witness, if not an ideal one.
in light of the reaction after the panorama program i have seen a mixed variety of responses.

For all the times we were told not to run ahead, think for ourselves, or behave as our own personality dictates; for all the focus that was put on relying on the Society to reveal and act on what is right; it is amazing how when the shit hits the fan we are faulted for not being rugged individuals.

I saw Milt up close at the '96 Internationals, then in '99 or 2000 at a KH dedication. Based on the trend I saw, he should be pretty much decomposed by now; rigor mortis had already set in when I saw him the second time.

The Coca Cola Corporation
by invisible insitting this evening with friends chilling out as you do, most of them anti-global capitalists and coca cola came up into the conversation.. you know, we couldn't come up with anything that essentially this giant corporation was doing or has done that might affect adversely other people elsewhere.
all they produce is one bloody great drink that everyone loves.. anyone else heard of or have something on this corporation?.
here's cheers to coke!!.

On a recent trip to California, I was seated next to a guy reading a Muslim newspaper on the leg from Philly to Chicago. I read over his shoulder an article calling for a boycott of Coke, consisting chiefly of unfounded or illogical accusations. I piped up that a Coke bottler was one of the largest and most reliable employer of Palestinians in either Gaza or the West Bank, as I had read a few months ago in either Business Week or Newsweek.
Three points stood out: 1) Coke supports Israel, although nothing specific was cited. 2) Coke sells small servings for very little money in poor countries, which uneducated mothers use in place of milk for their babies. 3) Coke has been accused of selling old product cheaper in minority neighborhoods.

New 'Worship' Book - senseless re-h...
by eyeslice inthere have been a few threads on the missing chapters in the new book, worship the only true god compared with the old united in worship book (first published 1983).
with the missing chapters you can draw your own conclusions as to why they have been omitted at least there isnt any ambiguity.. other chapters of the book are almost identical to the old, with some bits being omitted, other being re-worded and others being copied word for word.
so heres where the problems comes in.

Well, that should address your doubts. Specifically, any doubts that the Watchtower is a crock.
