The Borg has given up!!!!
by Crazyguy init's become obvious in the last few days that the borg is done, done giving one dime over to the membership of the organization.
they know or have been told that it's a waste of time to spend money trying to recruit new members so their cutting all out lays of money in this regard to the bone.
they will continue to spend money where they can make a prophet, keeping the ones in, not thinking and donating.

If the WT declares bankruptcy (can non-profits do that?) then every witness I know will be holed up in a basement expecting the four horseman to kill me. -

News from Argentina....letters from bethel to bethelites ; Get out with happiness!
by rege brazzy inbethelites news news betheliteson friday 50 brothers and sisters at bethel bethelites argentina, took their last breakfast together before heading out to their congregations.the bethel own patterson, new york, an undetermined number of bethelites that they were notified had a week to leave bethel and become regulate pioneers in their congregations.a couple of brothers they sold us everything told they had to go to work where there was more need.
a couple of months left to work on construction projects of kingdom halls in needy countries ago.
they have been told it is over.that's how fast things are changing toward the end.we are on the verge of incredible things, so any change is not surprising.is our lord faithful and discreet slave receiving instructions regarding the next future?

Are Circuit Overseers next?
by Londo111 inlast year saw the elimination of the district overseer...and circuit overseers now must retire at 70. how long until the circuit overseer is no more?
of course, the role might still exist, they would simply not get paid.
they would have to care for their own expenses.

I could see them axing the COs but they still need some level of middle management that can keep the congregation elders in line. They want every congregation to be as uniform as possible and a travelling middle manager makes that happen.
I think them axing half the COs and having a yearly visit would probably be just as effective at achieving their goals and save them quite a bit of money too.

The dubs live in expectation of the end so it's no wonder that every event in the world and in their organization is viewed through that lens and gets them very excited.
It seems that recently with the refugees, the pope's US visit and all the changes in the organization itself that many in my wife's local hall (even my wife it seems - remember she doesn't talk to me about it but her activity has upticked and she's talked some to the kids) are really thinking that the great tribulation is really coming fast.
I wonder how long it will take them to settle down again and if that will have any after-effect such as depression or lack of zeal for awhile....again

Template to dump Special Pioneers
by avaddohn94 in"downsizing" has reached special pioneers.. this is the template mexico is using to get rid of many of its special pioneers.
see how cold and unloving is the language they use.
a translation attempt is as follows:.

OMG the dubs will be super convinced that the end is coming ASAP!! They'll be no living with my wife for the next few months as these things start to ratchet up their end-of-the-world-glee. -

Welcome to the board New Order. You've had quite a life. I hope that you and your husband and son are happy and doing well. I'm so glad the JWs don't come by looking for your donations anymore. You are so much better off having them leave you alone. Please keep posting because you offer a great perspective. -

Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick
by sir82 inheard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.
apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

Calm Down Everybody, We Will Know Soon Enough
by OnTheWayOut inseriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.
it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.
they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

Imho it would be no different that when the bookstudy as a separate meeting night was cancelled. Most dubs were very happy that they had another free night. I know that a lot of families in my old hall do not have a regular family night study. If the dubs were relieved of the door to door work they'd be happy to comply.
