Just Want To Be Heard
by dubstepped ini've been lurking here for a while now, and i guess you could call me a fader.
i don't have hate in my heart for the organization that i spent most of my life in, but i have had an awakening.
luckily, so has my wife, and that way i don't feel so alone.

Dubstepped I didn't respond to this thread earlier but I want to say welcome to the board. You have a great writing style. I'm glad your wife is on this journey with you. -

My Story of Waking Up - in retrospect
by cappytan inso, many of y'all know bits and pieces of my story of waking up, but i thought it might be nice to have it all in one place.. i was baptized at 11, auxiliary pioneered every summer, regular pioneer at 17, ministerial servant by 19, then went to bethel for a year.. i always had minor doubts from time to time, but nothing serious.
always dismissed doubts and decided to "just have faith.".
after leaving bethel, i was never really firing on all cylinders "spiritually speaking.

Great post Cappytan! I am so glad you and your wife are on the way out. I remember your work post about your boss talking to you and you opening up to him. I had something similar so I totally relate. It is just so hard to keep everything going smoothly as your entire belief system crumbles around you. I wasn't successful at helping my wife leave but there is always hope.
607 was the first big issue I researched as well.

Paraplegic JW example used at assemblies
by Alfred init seems like every time our circuit failed to meet the field service goals set by our co, the very next circuit assembly would invariably include a talk that mentions a chronically ill paraplegic sister who would dial the phone with her tongue to make return visits or conduct bible studies... i must have heard this experience at least 6 or 7 times in the past 20 years or so.
and every time i heard this recycled talk, they would add even more guilt-inducing twists to it.
to me, it eventually became way to difficult to believe...

I remember the iron lung story. I think there was an article in the WT/AW about her. As a kid that really freaked me out. -

I watched most of it. Its like a full length movie. It's just sickening. I'm sure my wife will watch and instead of being happy that her husband works hard, takes care of the family and provides for them she will be depressed. -

Perhaps not having enough youth reaching out to fill management positions is one of the reasons they are pushing for child baptisms. Lock them in early with fear and obligation and then put the work on their shoulders as soon as they are able. -

I think having video talks from headquarters will strike guests at the KH as very cult-like behavior. -

Perhaps the groups that Oppostate mentioned is really large and isn't donating as much?
If they use video more at the local meetings they will need fewer shepherds to spread the parts around. That should work well with fewer brothers reaching out.

Does the GB also do Fieldservice?
by 1tMakesNoSence inthe wt study of may stated that no one is exempt from doing fieldservice.does that mean the gb also does fieldservice?and dont give me any if that "no they only give us insrtuction bullshit" because that would mean not everything applies to everyone, and thats never the case in the jw organisation!

Yes. I know from personal experience. But, they aren't very good at the door. Well, that is for GB 1.0 anyway. Not sure about the new kids on the block. -

Canada Branch Finances - What's Going On?
by berrygerry inan update on the canada branch hasn't been made (i think).. year-over-year, canada's equity decreased by 11 million in 2012, 17 million in 2013.. however, the 2014 report shows a huge increase (20 million) in the cost of "purchased supplies.
" with the shrinkage of the mags, and the push to online, how the heck did this go from 39 million to 58 million?.
even with this number, the equity in 2014 went down by a staggering 56 million.. what the heck is going on?.

So Brooklyn (Warwick) is not only taking all the US congregations money but also the foreign branches as well...
Their new push into slickly produced videos and fancy graphics better pay off big time if they are going to recoup their investment.
