Remember the one--"From door to door--from house to house." All brainwashing songs--sung by robots. Doesn't it just remind you of the Stedford Wives. Bunch of robots just singing along--no brain. What happened to their brain?

Hey One,
My congrats to you for making it out. I think we are all the special ones. We were brave enough to go against the tide-to stand up for what's right and take the consequences. Your search is perfectly normal and heathly. The one big problem with this label - "Born Again" is that it puts many people back in that same mindset. Me against You. "We have to convert you. " We have to save you. " Born Again Christians are also connected with the RABTURE--where God or Jesus will take only the ones that are considered SAVED and take them up to heaven to be with him forever while leaving all the "bad" people (non-Christians) down here to experience death and destruction. I had a freind who was an XBorn Again--he had many of the same horrible experiences and issues as a XJW. Told me how fearful he was all his young life. His greatest fear was that on those days when he would wake up and not see his parents at home, he thought perhaps the rapture had come and he was left behind for not being worthy. YUK--the same old fear-base thinking we were fed as JW's.
I'll tell you sincerely--FREEDOM- from all that is so sweet. There are many positive, joyful, life-enhancing, put a smile on your face everyday concepts and teachings that are so much more advanced than these primitive religions that insists are labeling people and religions as Good and Bad--Worthy/UnWorthy. Try inclusive belief systems, rather than exclusive. Universal rather than Separation. Hope you can use any of this. It comes from years of searching, reading, experiencing, trying and tasting it all, conversing with variety of people, seminars, praying, meditating, etc. etc. Hope this helps-----

Bumper Stickers! A new advertizing campaign
by JustTickledPink ini saw another bush '04 bumper sticker today and it got me thinking about bumper stickers!!!.
you know that jws go door-to-door but how many people do they really reach?
we drive tons of cars and could reach people every day with a simple message and a link to a website like this.

I like the Watchtower and cult one mentioned above. Watchtower is familiar to most "worldly" people and exposing them as the cult that they are is a great way to make people more aware of the real danger that they are.

Who cares if the JWs are right?
by new light inthis is by no means an original idea, but even if the jws have been right all along, i don't care.
if pleasing god means not knowing what to think or feel without checking with headquarters first, then i don't need him.
who would want to be caught up in an eternal nightmare where the entire population was a braindead mass of clean-cut yes men?

Amen to that, Gill. That's what I've felt for years

Hey S parkplug,
I've been asked that before if Namasti means It's a Man.. Well, Nope, but clever of you to have seen that. I never noticed it. Since you asked:
Namasti comes from the word Namaste. It's an old Sanskit expression (old Hindu) meaning-- I honor the divine essence within you. Divine to me is this great mystery, the principle of life that we all embody. It's recognizing that this Divine essence in you is the same one in me and thus we are all One.
Thanks for asking,
Namasti

Hey, Sugar, Prey tell--why you wanna know. But coming from a professional DF and re-reinstated several times idiot until I finally saw the light. You humbly sit in the back of the hall, looking sadly and miserable. After many months, you write a letter, professing your repentence and admitting what a horrible sinner you were/are and if you haven't pissed any of the elders off--walla-you're back in Jehovah's good graces and everyone loves you again- very conditionally of course.

I remember those last few years when my doubts started, I felt the same way. Even if they are right, etc, etc, etc. Now after so many years of being free, it is great to have no doubts and know what the truth is for me. You're write-up was very amusing, though. Loved it. Sad though--many still in and doubting ask themselves this very question all the time.

my take...
by teejay in... on the watchtower society.
i am not one who will ever bother to waste my time heaping praise on the jw religion as though it were some kind of improvement on society.
i have no qualms in saying that it was, is, and always will be a dangerous religion ?

teejay--I found your story very touching. Fasinating for me because it reminds me a lot of my childhood as a Witness. Two question I must ask you.
It sound like you grew up in the Bedfort Sti area in Brooklyn NY. Did you? Many of the Brothers and Sisters you mentioned sound like familier names to me. Would love to know.
2nd thing: One thing I see so differently from you is that I feared death much, much more as a JW. I always asked-- now if we die and we are only in Gods memory that means when he brings someone back it will be someone that looks, talks, acts like me, but how could it really be me if I am only in a memory. That concept was never really comforting to me. ON the other hand, when I left and started studying other concepts and considered the possiblity that we are eternal beings--won't go into what has taken me years to realize and expereince in my ever-evolving belief system-- but I feel much more comfort and fearlessness about death than when I was a Witness.
Would love to hear from you

What gives any being the right to be worshipped?
by dh in.
i'm not sure if i've phrased the question correctly, but what is it that you think gives god or whoever else the right to ask (or demand) the worship of us humans.

Where were all you Deep Thinkers when I was in "the truth"--I never heard anyone ask any of these questions. It was like only being in the company of 5th graders.
