  Sad News...

  my mom had her valve replacement and triple by-pass surgery today.

  the operation lasted five hours, and they had just gotten her to her room at 8:00pm when she went into cardiac arrest.

  the doctor tried everything, even opening up her chest and massaging her heart.

  While I am not in favor of countries banning religions, I am very much delighted that Russia has taken steps to ban a family-destroying cult that disguises itself as a harmless, loving religion. I plan on emailing the proper Russian Consulate to express my gratitude for their decision and to give them more ammunition as to why it was a proper verdict.

  WTBS attitude towards vegetarians ...

  having flirted with meat off and on through my life, but mostly conforming to the vegetarian standard (due to the obscenity for the most part that is the meat industry) - i noticed when serving with the society, that i came under fire from the brothers.. my moral arguments about cutting down on meat consumption based around the factory farming methods were cast aside and often sneered at.. "well god gave us the right to eat meat" was the usual line i had to swallow down.. have any of you guys faced the same situation?

  how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.

  the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!

  they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".

  Dansk....

  My prayers are with you and family. I am 15 months cancer free and I want to tell you that they are doing some great things with all types of cancer. Mine was about golf ball size and near my right arm pit. Surgery took care of it. If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm thinking of you!

  RIP 1934 -2004

  after a relatively short battle (5 weeks) my great aunt died this am at 02:30. of course she'd been ill much longer, losing weight, but she hated visiting doctors, and never wanted to make a fuss.

  i saw her on tuesday, and felt embarrased to stand at her bed as she looked so bad after what the cancer had done to her, reduced her to someone i hardly recognised.

  what happened to that glamorous woman of not so many years ago, immaculate in every way?

  to all of you who responded with heartfelt condolences when my father passed away in march.

  i printed out all of the posts and the personal messages and gave them to my mom who is not computer oriented.

  she really appreciated them.
