Which ones, the blood sucking Governing Body?
LOL No I mean the cute ones like Eric from True blood.
Everything that is fun and entertaining seem to be bad. Man I am glad I get to enjoy what I want to enjoy in life today.
i haven't attened a meeting in 5 years.
i was wondering what the wtbts has to say about the popularity of vampires we see currently in pop culture.
are they saying its evil and from satan?.

lol @ Think. Maybe vampires have some kind of filtering systems that allows them to only suck out the blood fractions. maybe vamps only suck out the monocytes and leave the RBC in the body....hmmmm

back in my day it was cable tv and music videos that were bad and from the devil.
this is the first study article from the april 15, 2010 watchtower, titled "young people - strengthen your desire to serve jehovah.
" i hit paragraph four and i just had to pause to comment.
i am pretty darn sure this is a softening of the jehovah's witness stance regarding the appropriate age for baptism.
I know for a fact one kid is getting baptized this fall. His words are "just to keep them off my back about it" he is 16. I wonder if he will stop dealing pot before or after he gets dunked.
with sadness we just heard that you have gone home.. this is a simple note of gratitude.. you were instrumental in my 80 year old mom leaving this organization after 37 years.
she is so thankful that she finally realized that this organization is a high control cult.
she is in a much better place and feels closer to "jehovah" god and jesus than she ever did as a witness.
Thank you Ray, for not being afraid to speak out and write about your experiences. I love your books.
reading the post "how long did it take you to leave", i can't help but be envious of those of you who refer to leaving as a "we" event.. i know it has been said that women tend to react to feelings/emotions along with logic, can you help me with ideas that got you to feel something was wrong?
what should i work on planting with my wife?.
thanks..
well my hubby was the one that got me thinking. I listened to him .. at first I thought he was just a bitter Df'd man, but the he showed me the Un thing, that combined with how the "loving" brothers treated him, we left.
facebook comments of my wife and friends are making me sick ... literally.. "great reminders" "loved it" "just what we needed" "love the way jehovah works" "very encouraging" "get better every year" "best convention ever" "what a boost".
what did i miss?
have i become a wicked fault-finding apostate blind to the encouragement?.
Just post that you found jesus... he was hiding behind the couch the whole time.
why are you a theist or a deist?
please give any or all reasons why without resorting to a god of the gaps argument.
that is the only condition i am making, since in my (& presumably every other atheist's) opinion, a god of the gaps argument simply isn't convincing enough to demonstrate that there is a god, only that there might be a god.. thank you.. p.s.
I don't believe that there is a surpreme being looking out for all of us... simply because of the fact that he is doing a pretty damn lousy job of it.
I don't remember who said it but someone on this board said... if I had almighty powers and saw something terrible about to happen and I had the power to stop and didn't that would make me just as guilty as the one doing the terrible act.
Now that I am a parent I can't imagine watching horrible things happen to my child and me just standing by and letting it happen. So how can god just sit up there and watch it?
That is why I don't think he exists.
.....what interesting use of the internet do you make?.
jeff.
My new hobby is annoying JW's on facebook. I have lost two already... 6 more to go.
yesterday was the day my family went out to the cemetary in my dad's home town to clean up the headstone and leave flowers and such.
now this town is small and rural.
afterwards we went back to the community center for the annual potluck.
Yesterday was the day my family went out to the cemetary in my dad's home town to clean up the headstone and leave flowers and such. Now this town is small and rural. Afterwards we went back to the community center for the annual potluck. My husband my daughter and myself were the youngest ones there (and hubby and I are middle aged). So after we ate they had entertainment!!!! 4 men singing gospel music. OMG my hubby and daughter went out to the car after two songs in order to keep their sanity. I made it thru 4 songs before I left.
When I went out to the car I told my daughter that at my funeral I don't want any religious music played what so ever. If she does play gospel or hymns I will come back and haunt her. She laughed and said she wouldn't do that to me.
So It got me wondering what music is played at a non religious persons funeral? I like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Pink...but they don't seem appropriate.
