Xander, what is NAMBLA? The writer of the article in question was gay, if I recall (its at least a year old), and he polled local gays that he knew. I have no idea how the question was phrased. He wrote the article basically blasting what he called 'a prevailing gay promiscuity problem' because it was giving 'moderate gays' like him a bad name and helping perpetuate negative stereotypes of gays, much as urban legends do. I believe he was prompted to write the article after he observed a disproportionate number of what appeared to be older gay men parading around his neighborhood and in the gay bars with what appeared to be middle to upper class surburban boys barely 17 or 18. I did not read the article myself, but was informed of the basic premise and content of it in a lively discussion with gays that I know. Basically they were debating the article and I was privy to the argument, which presented both views, including the one you share.
I didnt want to go into my own extensive personal experience with gay men having lived around, worked with and catered to them (I ran a business in what is somewhat affectionately known here as the 'gay ghetto' for a few years whose clients were 80% gay, by rough estimate) as that would be predjudicial and largely irrelevant. But suffice it to say that even those experiences would prompt me to be a little more cautious about allowing a gay male to be in my home and around my son. Not homophobic, as Im sure someone will soon scream here, but realistically cautious.

by Leander ini've spent a lot of time on allmusic.com and it amazes me how much nirvana is mentioned when the reviewers rate other albums.
so its a no brainer that nirvana's work should probably have a place in every rock collection, but what are some other albums every rock fan should listen to if not own.

Coming to Canada August 30th-wanna party?

i'm sure naeb has things planned (like getting me smashed and laughing his ass off while my wifey photographs me in compromising positions so that the imcriminating pics can be posted gleefully here).

Yeah, well, given that a prominent gay men's magazine in my area released an article last summer that claimed that of gay males polled the number one gay male sexual fantasy was 'sex with boys under the age of 14', it'll be a frosty Friday in hell before a gay contractor steps foot in my house, well at least while my boy is around.

SUICIDE IN KH PARKING LOT
by Sabine inlast saturday, a former ministerial servant and pioneer committed suicide in the woodinville washington kingdom hall parking lot.
he was disfellowshipped several years ago, and according to the old sister that related the story to me today, he was depressed because no one would talk to him.
i don't know how i kept calm when she explained to me that "we couldn't talk to him...he was disfellowshipped.".

Jesus...Sabine please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss which must be all the more painful in light of this most recent tragedy. In addition if you are to send any expressions of sympathy to that boy's mother please send mine as well.
I've been to the brink a good many times myself. Sometimes it hurts SO much that I can't even help my own mother see how much I love her, just not her religion. Honestly if I didn't have two beautiful kids of my own I probably would have ended my life along time ago.

The only thing that strikes me when I read your posts bleep is that you most probably are high when you write them. Not trying to offend, but they usually are cryptically meandering which makes it difficult to understand exactly just what it is you are trying to say.
That doesn't mean I think you should leave, tho.

WITH A LOT OF HELP.Gee dungbeetle, I never knew the sole purpose of this forum was to discuss those issues and those issues only. I'll be looking forward to similar sentiments from you in other threads such as "your favorite rock album" or any other thread not directly related to scandals involving JWs. I doubt its all a diabolical plan to derail these important issues.
Maybe that's what YOU come here to talk about, but its apparent that a greater number, while acknowledging the definate need to talk about it, would like to discuss other things as well.
