  ALERT: All Child Abuse Lawsuits have been settled. Millions cashed out???

  a bethel insider in the know told me that all of the child abuse lawsuits where the watchtower bible and tract society was one of the defendants were settled back in the beginning of this year.

  i questioned it and called napa myself and they were absolutely settled back then.

  When a civil suit settles it is based on the legal advice and guidance of your lawyer, to make a good decision. As a victim of a therapists exploitive sexual abuse, I went through months of the defenses psychological evaluations, depositions with the perp in attendence, and hours of meetings with my attorney. One month prior to my trial date, I settled my suit. Why? A victory to any lawsuit always involves a appeal. I was just plain tired! I settled for an amount that would keep me moving in the right direction, which was healing! HEALING!! I am not allowed to disclose the amount of the settlement but I am free to discuss the name of the defendent and what I sued him for, as it is a matter of the court and public information!

  IT IS TIME FOR A___CONFESSION!

  there is an old-fashioned definition of the word "confession" which is the public expression of one's deepest faith and belief.. take a deep breath and give a one or two paragraph summary of your deepest belief.. i'll go first.. from the time i was a small child i had a deep and abiding reverence for god as a father.

  (my own father i never even met until i searched and found him when i was 25 years old.

  ) my grandmother had been raised in a catholic convent.

  I married TOO young! (18)

  I NEVER, in my wildest dreams believed I would still be alive and on this earth 30 years later.

  I am divorced, which is a cause for sadness and yes, even shame.

  I will LOVE my ex till the day I die. Just couldn't live with him.

  My children were the GREATEST gift I have EVER received!

  I have hit rock bottom in my life. I know what darkness is!

  I no longer fear death!

  I found light again, even happiness. NEVER give up!

  My fears have lessened. My curiousity is heightened.

  the differentiae of a species are the species' properties that other members of the genus do not have.

  It seems with the Conventions of this summer, they are trying to bring him back! "Follow the Christ". I am in a state of adjustment and have been for sometime. I have not settled into a "belief" system, other then to know that my daily behavior has consequence and responsibility. To God? To Man? To myself?

  Jehovah HAS become a BRAND name, specifically for the JW's!

  It seems to me.....with one WT going only to the publishers, the COUNSEL will only get more militant! The publisher will be inundated with BLACK and WHITE.....YOU WILL....counsel, that the PUBLIC will not see!

  Living Alone - Love it or Loathe it?

  well i have been living alone now for a week for the first time in about 6 years and apart from one or two minor episodes i am really really enjoying the freedom of it.

  i feel like a weight has been lifted.

  i feel free again - a tiny bit lonely at night - but mostly i think i've recaptured that long lost spring in my step.

  I LOVE living alone! I married at age 18, which meant moving from my fathers home to my husbands home. After 28 years of marriage, my husband moved out but I still had two children living with me. My daughter moved out last year and my son moved out last month! PEACE!!!! I enjoy having friends over for dinner or going out to dinner. I am not a hermit. I am social when I want to be social. Last night I had dinner at my daughters house.......the ride home, knowing I would find the peace of my shelter after a nice evening was wonderful!

  i was looking up my old hard copies that i printed out through the years from jwd, and came across this powerful post by "outaservice".. it is an open letter written by a "gaila noble" from arizona.

  it was posted on january 30, 2002 by outaservice, and he gave me permission to copy/paste it into a new thread, for the benefit of all the newbies and others who have never seen it.
